"Happy Birthday, bitch," Dane exclaimed, hopping on to my bed and waking me from my slumber. I groaned, covering my head with my pillow. "IT'S TOO EARLY FOR THIS SHIT!" I yelled as he bounced up and down beside me, throwing his body over me.
"WakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupwakeupWAKEUP!" Dane pestered, pulling my comforter away. "Motherfucker," I sighed, hitting his shoulder. "Come on, birthday girl. You're 19 today. And it's December 19th whoop! {I can't remember if I said her birthday before so if I did and this date is different, ignore the first date lmao} We're going adventuring today. It snowed last night, come on!"
I opened my eyes and looked up at him, glaring. "I hate you sometimes."
Dane grinned at me and nodded. "I know, but I'm your favorite. Now get dressed! I'm taking you out to breakfast and then we should Skype Lynn. Which reminds me, Alexa was thinking of visiting Christimas Eve. You want to hang out with us? I know Lynn is coming on the 22nd, and leaving later on Christmas Day, so maybe we could show her around and have her meet some people," Dane suggested, clapping his hands.
I felt butterflies as I remembered that I would finally get to see Lynn. It felt like forever since I last held her in my arms and it had been a rough first two months without her. I would constantly cry over the phone with her and tell her I couldn't do it anymore. "LYNNNNN!" I cooed, just at the thought of her. Dane laughed. "You're so gay, I love it."
I gave him a look before lifting out my arms for him to pull me up. I got out of bed quickly and looked in my drawers quickly, picking out warm clothes for the weather. I pulled out my black jeans and a long sleeve, along with a thick sweater. I started changing like it was normal - Dane and I were so close that honestly neither of us gave a shit anymore. To be honest, all he was focused on were the little chocolates that Jenna had gotten me for my birthday. I watched as he picked at some of them, looking content as he swallowed after barely even chewing them.
I scoffed at the sight, shaking my head. Once I was changed, I wrapped a scarf around my neck and left my hair down.
I went to the bathrooms to brush my teeth and wash my face before we headed out.

"Damn, so you haven't had sex in like forever. Are you and Lynn gonna do the dirty dance with no pants when she visits?" Dane asked way too loudly, sticking his tongue out before picking up his drink. I felt my face heat up at his comment. "Damn it, Dane! You said you wouldn't talk about it! Did you tell anyone?" I hissed, leaning across the table. "Just Sam. But she's like fucking Pandora's box. She won't open but there are horrors beyond our imagination in there," he said, pretending to shiver.
I just narrowed my eyes at him and scoffed. Dane bought me chocolate chip pancakes and made the waiters sing 'Happy Birthday' to me in front of everyone, which I promised to get back at him for.
"So, Sam's coming up with Alexa? Where are you gonna show her around? Them sheets?" I laughed, throwing my head back. Dane bit the inside of his cheek, blushing. "Fuck you. And no, I was thinking of taking her to the beach despite the freezing weather. Maybe to shoot some photos for the band and possibly a video? Ooooh!" he exclaimed, wiggling his fingers at me.
"You're so lame."
"But like who isn't?" Dane said in a weird voice, pretending to flip his short hair. I scoffed, shaking my head.

After we finished breakfast, Dane led me out of the restaurant and we got into his car, beginning to drive down the road. I suddenly thought of Ashley and felt a heavy weight on my chest, feeling bad for never trying to contact her. But she never tried to talk to me after that last day we saw each other either.
"Where are we going?" I wondered, plugging my phone into the aux chord. "I thought maybe we could go vinyl shopping. What do you think?"
"That sounds fun," I agreed, clicking on a song as we both sat in silence for the rest of the ride, perfectly content.
