You And I

I woke up early on the morning of Lynn's arrival, wearing a baggy Christmas sweater that Dane's mother had sent me. I was too lazy to put on any pants and Tay was out of town for the holidays, so I just cleaned up the floor, throwing all my dirty clothes in the laundry. I made my bed quickly before straightening up my desk.

I couldn't wait to see Lynn. It had been so long, even with all the Skype calls we had throughout the months we spent apart.

I opened the blinds in the dorm and made sure the window was locked, not wanting to let any of the freezing air in. There was a knock on my door frame and I turned around quickly, facing Lynn.

"Lynn!" I yelled, opening my arms as I ran toward her, wrapping my arms around her as she picked me up, my legs wrapped around her waist as she spun me around.

"I missed you so fucking much," I cried, still holding on to her after she had let me down. "I missed you too, babygirl. Happy birthday!" she exclaimed, kissing my neck before handing me two boxes. "Lynn, you shouldn't have..." I muttered, blushing. I always felt so awkward whenever people bought me stuff. "Shush. Come on, open them," she prompted, pulling me over to my bed before sitting down. She picked up my pillow and cuddled it as she watched me intently.

I unwrapped the first one and revealed a large moleskin journal. "Lynn! These are expensive," I whined, feeling bad that she had spent that money on me. "Shut up, it doesn't matter. Open the next one."

I looked at her sheepishly before opening the next gift. It was two in one. A rough draft of an EP and a book filled with dark poetry that was all hand written.

"Holy shit, is this your band's EP?" I exclaimed, holding it up. She nodded and I squealed, engulfing her in a huge hug before kissing her cheek. "It's just the rough draft though. It's the acoustic version since we thought it would sound better like that. And the poetry is all my favorite poems that I wrote down for you," she explained, opening the book and flipping through the pages.

I gaped at her. "You wrote all of this? ALL OF IT?"

She nodded, looking slightly embarrassed. "You hand wrote 200 pages of poetry. Only you, Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, would do that for someone," I remarked, grinning at her. "Thank you so much babe, I love all of this so much."

I kissed her gently and placed the notebook and poetry on my desk before popping the EP into my radio, sitting back down on the bed as it began to play.

Lynn held me tightly as her melodic voice filled the room, echoing guitar in the background as I closed my eyes and listened intently, her arms never moving from around me.

Short chapter, sorry! I just started school today and don't have much energy. I'm already totally done with this year kms
