Chapter 7

Wilmer's POV

   I've been waiting for Demi for an hour now. She needs to get home. She's been dragging her ass lately, taking her ever loving time to get home. I bet she's been out with Simon and didn't tell me. Normally she does tell me where she's going so it's hard for me to understand why she would find it okay to lie to me. 

15 minutes later...

   The doorbell rings and I go to answer it. I was hoping it would be Demi, but it's actually Simon. Oh great. He smirks at me. "What delight do I owe you for your presence you old pervert?" He laughs. "You and I have something to discuss." I sigh. "What now?" "I would have Demi tell you herself, but she's staying in my car during this conversation because you will get pissed and try to lash out at her. I know you better than you think." I take a threatening step towards him. "You need to stop pushing me before I do something I regret. You're ruining Demi and I's engagement. We were happy until you recently started to tamper with our relationship. What's wrong with you Simon? Clearly a lot."

    Anger flashes in Simon's eyes. "You delusional fool. Demi may love you, but she's not in love you. You treat her disgustingly. You constantly call her foul names and sometimes go after her physically. I am the one who truly loves Demi. I'm the one who's always there for her in good times and bad, I'm the one who goes to most of her shows and rehearsals, and I am the one who does everything I can do make her smile. I am the definition of a man. You are nothing but a coward Wilmer. Do yourself a favor and realize that there is a chance that I can win Demi's heart. If I do, then you will back off and leave her alone. Got it?"

    "Who the hell do you think you are Simon, God? No you're not. There's only one God and he's not you. As a Christian, I know that good people don't thrive off of stealing their loved ones from them." Simon looks at me repulsively. "You are nowhere close to a Christian or any type of saint for that matter so don't even pretend like you are. You are done hurting Demi and if you do the slightest thing to upset her again, I will come back and kick your ass. That's not a bluff, that's a promise." 

     I stand in silence as Simon goes back to his car to fetch Demi. She looks hesitant to come in the house, but I put on a fake smile not to worry her. The last thing I need is another fight tonight. I'm so worn out that I just head right to bed without saying anything else. I leave Demi be to do what she pleases. It's the least I can do.
