Chapter 42

Simon's POV 

    Demi and I have been in Hawaii for two days now and it's been the most amazing getaway. Hawaii is everything a person can dream of and more. Palm trees everywhere, hotels with ocean balcony views, plenty of activities, and more. We're spending a few more days here. I'm trying to make each day count. 

        "So Demi, what would you like to do today?" Her famous devious grin forms on her face. "I have an idea, but I'm not going to tell you because you'll probably piss yourself as soon as you find out." I cross my arms near my chest. "Oh my lovely brat, what do you have in store for me?" She laughs. "You'll see. Now let's get moving before the crowds get too bad." I sigh and let her pull me up several hills towards the top of a cliff. Once I see how high up we are, I begin to panic.

         "Demi this isn't funny. You know I'm afraid of extreme heights. We have to be at least sixty feet above sea level." "Aw come Simon. It's not like a pit of lava is below us, it's just water." "A jump from this height into water is still dangerous. I'm not jumping off this cliff and neither are you." She takes two steps to the edge of the cliff. In a warning tone I say, "You're making a big mistake here. I love you, but you know you could seriously get hurt doing this." I keep at her for several minutes until she suggest a compromise. "There is a small cliff that is only ten feet above the water. Can you handle that?" "That sounds much better. Let's go." 

        We head to the bottom of the cliff near the entrance of the hills. Demi and I jump in at the same time while holding hands. She shrieks from the cool temperature of the water but gets used to it after a few minutes. She does a few tricks while I simply float around. Dolphins swim around us and fellow couples wave to us from above. Hawaii is truly paradise.
