Nightmares.
Plaguing my peaceful sleep
You wrench me from my happy dreams
Into the depression you pull me deep.
Nightmares.
Waking up screaming in the night
My bedsheets lay tangled around me
My head is filled with fright
Nightmares.
Of blood and pain and guilt
Being cut off from the world
Hidden away in the walls I built
Nightmares.
I don't think I'll ever get over my pain
It's just too much to bear
Taking all the happiness down the drain
Nightmares.
You're the first one to realize that I exist
You know I want to be done
With this life that can't ever be fixed
Nightmares.
Thank you for making me feel needed
Everyone else has just looked by me
I love you because you succeeded
Nightmares.
You take away my screams
But then I wake up, and realize
You were nothing but a stupid dream
Or a nightmare
