Of course, the media had a field day when they caught wind of our relationship.
Everywhere I looked, there was an article about Luke and I.
"Plans for marriage?" One article asked.
"A baby on the way?" Another posed.
"For God's sake," Luke rolled his eyes, showing me the screen on his phone. "We just announced our relationship 5 days ago, and they're already starting up new rumours."
"I doubt the fans believe it," I told him. "They know us a lot more than the media."
"I guess so," Luke agreed. "Anyway, what do you want to do for New Years?"
"I don't care," I shrugged. "What do you want to do?"
"Whatever you want to do."
I rolled my eyes. "You're impossible."
I had to grin nonetheless.
"Well do you want to go out or stay in?" Luke asked.
"I'm fine with either," I told him. "Is there any place that you would want to go?"
"Well there's this party..." Luke said, trailing off.
"Do you want to go?" I asked.
"Well, I mean, uh-"
"Luke."
"Yeah, kind of," he admitted.
"Then we'll go," I said, pecking him on the cheek. "Simple."
"What did I do to deserve you?" Luke asked, smiling fondly at me.
"Nothing, I'm your motivation to be a better person," I teased, snuggling into his arms.
"Very funny," Luke smiled, resting his chin on the top of my head.
"I thought so," I giggled.
"So what should I wear to this party?" I added.
"How about a dress?" Luke suggested, eyes lighting up.
"What sort of dress?"
"Something short," Luke wiggled his eyebrows.
"Luke!" I exclaimed with a laugh, playfully slapping his arm.
He smirked. "What? Something short and flashy."
"Flashy?"
"Like sparkly or something. I dunno. Eye catching," he shrugged.
"I'm sure I can find something," I chuckled. "Might have to go shopping though."
"I'll give you some money," Luke said, reaching for his wallet.
"No, no, Luke that's not necessary. I can buy my own dress. Plus, it's right after Christmas. You spent way too much on me already." I absentmindedly toyed with the charms on my necklace, which hung in a bundle in the middle of the chain.
"No, I insist," Luke shoving $200 into my hands. "I'm the only reason you're going out at all, let alone buying a new party dress."
"Luke..." I sighed.
"Hush. You're my girl, I can treat you if I want," Luke said, grabbing my hand and holding it between both of his.
I giggled and blushed.
"I'm not wearing heels just so you know," I reminded him with a small smile.
"Good. Then you can dance with me easier," Luke responded, kissing my temple.
I smiled, and Luke laid down and pulled me over from my seat beside him on his bed so that I was laying on top of him.
He tangled our legs together and wrapped his arms around my waist, snuggling into me as I rested my head on his chest.
"Maybe I'll call Lauren and take her shopping with me," I said quietly as Luke's hands wandered up and played with the ends of my hair.
"That would be nice," Luke smiled softly. "She loves spending time with you."
"I like being around her too, she's really great," I smiled faintly.
"Getting sleepy?" Luke said with a little smile, running his fingers though my hair.
"A little," I said, already starting to doze off from the combination of Luke's fingers in my hair and the warmth of his chest.
"Go to sleep," he chuckled. "It's nearly 10 anyway."
"That's early," I mumbled half-heartedly.
"Well you'll be well rested for tomorrow," Luke pointed out.
"Mmhmm," I hummed. "Night."
"Goodnight, Love." He kissed my head, and I finally drifted off to sleep.
