A/N: no I don't advise underage drinking but the reality is that most teenagers are gonna have a couple drinks now and again or even get drunk.
Also, for my American readers, 19 is the legal drinking age in Canada and I think in Australia so yeah.

While the band prepared to leave behind their friends and family, I easily packed up my things and readied myself to go.

Yes, I was going to miss the stable home environment and the Hemmings family and all of Luke's friends that I had met, but going on tour was going to be so fun!

Luke, Michael, Ashton, and Calum decided that on the second last night before we had to leave for tour, they would have a huge party at Michael's.
(Superhero af lol "and they all decided that he should have a party")

I was hesitant, never really being a party person.
I attended one every now and again, even though I was almost always invited.

But I figured why the hell not, because the boys deserved it and who was I to stand in the way of what they wanted.

So we prepared.
We bought food, and drinks (me forcing them to get some non alcoholic drinks for me, because I was probably going to be one of the only ones there who wasn't legal), and called everyone and invited them to the party.

The day of the party, Luke and I just hung out in the morning, since the party didn't start till 7:00 pm.

At 5, we figured that we should head over soon, so we both got ready.

I tied a black and red checked flannel around the waist of the same ripped Jean shorts I travelled in, phone in my pocket, in case I got cold in my torn up black and white Ramones tank top ( Tamwyyn ).
I left my hair down in it's natural curls, but applied some black waterproof mascara and liquid eyeliner in wings since it was a party, along with a smidge of silver eyeshadow and a coat of shimmery pink lip stick.

I may not have worn makeup very often but when I did I could rock it something fierce.

After I was finished with my makeup, I slid on my glasses and inspected my pristine matte black nails with shiny tips for the millionth time, wanting to make sure that they weren't dented. (bc dented nail polish will be the death of me I swear)

When I exited the bathroom, Luke was waiting by the stairs, wearing black jeans and his "I wouldn't trust me either" shirt.

A floorboard creaked as I stepped into the hall, causing Luke to look up, his eyes widening involuntarily at my appearance.

I frowned slightly, my arms subconsciously crossing over my abdomen.
"Is it bad?" I asked nervously, biting my coloured lip lightly.
"N-no," Luke stuttered, blushing. "You look awesome!"
It was my turn to blush. "It's nothing special, really," I said modestly.
"You did an amazing job on your makeup," he complimented. "Even though you look just as amazing without it too."
I blushed deeper, looking down at the mismatched socks on my feet. "Thanks, Luke."
He smiled. "It's true. Now let's get going, don't want to be late to our own party!"

We said bye to Liz and Andrew, then hopped in Luke's car and drove to Michael's.

When we got there, I was about to knock on the door, but before I got the chance Luke just barged right in.
"Hey Karen!" He called to Michael's mum.
"Hello dear," Karen said, standing up and hugging us both. "Excited for the party?"
(I had met all of the boys' family, and they had known about me for quite a while before as well. It was strange to think we'd only been friends for a couple of months but we're already as close as we were.)
"Very," I replied, and Luke nodded.
Karen looked at us fondly.
"The boys are in the back," she said. "Have fun!"
"We will!" Luke called, leading the way back through the house to Michael's backyard.

When I stepped into the backyard, my eyes were met with the sight of numerous lawn chairs, and tables of food and drinks, as well as tables set up for games like beer pong.
There were speakers set up in the corner for music, an essential among our crowd, and there was even a fire pit with loads of wood for a bonfire like the ones at the parties back home.

Sat in 3 of the chairs were Michael, Ashton, and Calum, all calling out greetings to us as we arrived.
"Lauren didn't come?" I asked Ashton as I sat down.
He shook his head. "Nah. Had other plans. She says sorry that she let you all alone though."
I laughed. "Whatever, now it's up to you guys to hang out with me all night."
I had made quite good friends with Lauren, despite her being a year younger than me, and was kind of sad she couldn't make it.
Calum laughed. "We'll probably be smashed by the end of the night."
"That's the plan," Ashton said.
I rolled my eyes with a smile. "Planning on getting drunk; that will not end well."
"Probably not, but who cares?" Michael shrugged. "It's basically our last night we can do this before going on tour."
"You guys go to clubs and parties on tour though, don't you?" I asked.
"Yeah, but we're not the ones hosting them," Luke answered.
"Besides, it's not a good idea to get totally pissed drunk so far from home," Calum pointed out.
"True," I agreed.
"So are you gonna drink tonight?" Michael asked.
"Maybe a little bit. Two at most. I really don't want a hangover," I said.
"Have you ever had a hangover?" Ashton laughed.
"Well no," I admitted. "But from what I've heard they suck."
"Have you even drank before?" Calum asked curiously.
"In my family we all start drinking at 15," I said by way of an answer.
"But you've never been drunk?" Luke asked.
"Nope," I shook my head. "I've never really seen the appeal. It's not gonna help you in any way."
"No it doesn't help, but it's fun, so that's the plan for tonight," Michael shrugged.
Calum and Ashton nodded, but Luke shook his head. "I don't really wanna get drunk tonight either."
"Why not?" Calum asked.
Luke's eyes flicked to me.
"If you're gonna say because of me then you might as well get drunk," I said quickly. "I want you to enjoy your last free night before tour."
"I'll enjoy it more if I'm not drunk," Luke said. "I'll remember it better."
"Suit yourself mate," Michael shrugged.
"More booze for us," Ashton laughed.
"Not if our friends have anything to say about it," Calum said and, as if on cue, the back door opened and a stream of people filtered out.

The party was about to begin.
