The next morning I woke up at 9, looking around to find Luke gone.

I hurriedly got dressed into a neon green ruffle tankini, pulling a black sheer sleeveless dress overtop and brushing my hair into a messy top knot.

When I peeked into Luke's room he was already dressed, and we made our way downstairs to grab breakfast together.

After some toast with Nutella and a few glasses of lemonade, we brushed our teeth and grabbed our snorkel things, just needing to pick up the boys.

We hopped in Luke's car and cranked the radio, which was playing Lost In Stereo by All Time Low.

We picked up Calum and Michael, having to wait for Michael since he was still in his pajamas.

We chatted on the way to Ashton's house, humming the tunes that came on the radio randomly.

When Ashton was safely loaded into the car, and we were on our way down the road again, First Date by Blink 182 came on.

"OH MY GOD YESSSSS," I cheered.

"In the car I just can't wait, to take you on our very first date..."

We all sang, laughing good-naturedly when one of our voices cracked or when we went off key.

When the song ended, we all breathed deeply, trying to catch our breath after our
hard-core singing session.

If life could always be like that, no pain and no suffering, just loud singing with your best mates on a highway towards a brilliant prospect of a day, it would be amazing.

But I suppose, if life was always like that, it wouldn't seem so amazing.

It's like that saying, you know, the one that says you would never know light without the dark?

Life's like that.

And in that moment I thought that maybe it was worth it to have moments like that one.

----------

We arrived at the Sydney harbour and found our boat, lugging our things into it.

Luckily the boat was mostly young adults in their 20s and older, so their were no crazed teenage fans spoiling the day.

Once again, love the fans, but some of them are absolutely bonkers.

We laughed and talked as the boat set sail, all 5 of us sprawled out on one of the nets at the front.

(If you've never been on a catamaran there's like these net thingies on the front the stretch out over holes in the boat that you can lay on, and if you look through the net you can see the water and stuff and it's really cool)

When we arrived at the reef, and the instructor person explained everything, we strapped on our gear and got into the warm Australian water.

I had been snorkelling in lots of tropical places as a child and adolescent, up until we stopped travelling when my mum got busy.

I still had a taste for it though, and I was just as good as I remembered being at the sort-of sport.

We stayed in a group, swimming together in a cluster around the beautiful reef.

There were seemingly billions of brightly coloured fish swarming the neon reef, sometimes brushing against my skin and causing me to giggle little bubbles through my snorkel.

Luke, upon seeing my giggle bubbles, produced some giggle bubbles of his own, which  led to a chain reaction of giggle bubbles until each and every member of our group was emitting them.

Eventually I accidentally swallowed some water, causing me to choke and sputter.

I lifted my head from the water, starting to tread as I pulled the snorkel out of my mouth and continued to cough.

The boys all came up, looking extremely concerned, Luke most of all.

He was such an over protective brother.

"Are you okay?" Luke asked, pushing his mask off of his face and onto his head, also treading water.
"I-I-I think so," I sputtered, finally catching my breath.
"Are you sure?" Luke asked worriedly.
"Yeah, it's okay, it's happened before," I said, taking a deep breath and smiling.
"Ready to keep going?" I asked.

They all laughed, apparently impressed with my resilience, and went under again.

Luke and I adjusted our snorkels and masks, and followed the boys along the reef.

-------------

After over an hour of snorkelling, we returned to the boat and climbed back into the net.

Chatting casually, we dried off and stretched out, waiting for the last few snorkelers to climb on board again.

On the way back to the harbour, I fell asleep, exhausted, and my head fell on Luke's shoulder, who was beside me.

Luke's P.O.V.

"She's sleeping," I said with a small smile, looking down at her.
Michael rolled his eyes at me, laughing. "Dude, you're so in love."
"Obviously," Calum laughed.
I looked down at Paris fondly. "I know."
"Why can't you tell her? She's not dating that douchebag anymore," Ashton asked.
"She's not ready," I said quietly.
"She's not ready or you're not ready?" Michael challenged.
"Both," I answered, brushing her hair out of her face softly. "One day though, we'll be together, just you wait."
