-Amari's POV-
"Hey, uh..."  I spoke up again after a while.  "Do you remember which way we came from?"  I asked.  Carmen's face went blank.  "I'll take that as a no."  I stated.  We both looked around for any sign of human life.  I spotted something in the distance that almost looked like a building.  Humans built stuff, maybe the camp was near there!

"Hey, look!"  I nudged Carmen and pointed.

"Oh.  Thank God..."  She sighed in relief.  We both headed toward the camp.

When we got there, however, we were met by, not humans, but something else.  They almost looked human, but their skin was a sickly green and their eyes were entirely black.  Aliens.

I grabbed Carmen's arm, ready to turn back, when one of the aliens spotted us.  It said something in a garbled language that I didn't understand, calling another alien over to it, and the two of them walked towards us.

"Um... hi?"  It came out as more of a question than a greeting, mainly because I didn't know if they would understand a word I said.  They both looked confused, so I assumed they didn't speak English.

"Hey, do you know where we are?"  Carmen tried it too.  When they didn't respond, I could tell she was getting annoyed.  "Hey buddies, you gonna answer us?!"

"Carmen?"  I asked.  She looked at me, telling me she was listening.  "I don't think they speak English."  Carmen facepalmed.

"Clearly."  She let her hand drop back to her side, the annoyance still written all over her face.  I couldn't help but laugh at least a little bit at this response.  She glared at me, but a smile cracked across her face quickly after.  Soon, we were both laughing.  I was glad to have her around, especially in a time like this.
