-Carmen's POV-
I followed my adventurous younger sister as we literally bounded across the red surface, kicking up rust-colored dust beneath our feet. It felt so foreign, but I kept telling myself I would get used to all of this eventually."Come on!" Amari called over her shoulder. I hadn't realized how far behind her I had gotten. "Keep up, sis!" I nodded and tried to run to her, but the gravity was messing with me, so I eventually went back to half-jogging, half-leaping, like we had been doing moments before. Thankfully, she had stopped to wait for me, so I caught up easily.
"Hey, what do you think we'll find?" I asked as we continued on our journey to who-knows-where.
"I dunno, which makes it so much more exciting! It'd be cool if we found one of those alien villages like you see on the internet or on TV, though... but I doubt that'll happen." Amari blabbed.
"That would be cool." I admitted. Amari and I always seemed to be interested in the same things, so agreeing with her wasn't out of the ordinary- at least that was one thing that hadn't changed when we got here.
"We're so light! I feel like I'm flying!" Amari exclaimed. She leapt into the air, sending herself spiraling into the inky sky for a moment before gravity finally pulled her back down. I grinned and did the same thing. I was a bit heavier than her, so I landed faster, but I still felt pretty light.
"Heheh. It kinda does." I agreed, smiling. Despite everything, my bond with Amari obviously hadn't changed.
