-Aya's POV-
"Am I missing something?" Sapphire questioned, voicing my thoughts. Carmen and Amari turned around to face us, like they had just remembered that we existed.
"Yes." Amari replied bluntly. "You see, before we ran into you guys, we came across some alien colonies. Some were friendly-" she motioned to the lighter green aliens- "and some weren't so friendly." She motioned to the darker green ones.
"When the bad aliens started attacking us, the friendly aliens saved us. It seems like they've done that again." Carmen explained. There were actually aliens out there who would save a pair of humans?
"What do you think they'll do when the fight's over?" I asked, only half-aware of the green blur behind Carmen and Amari.
"Well, that depends on who wins." Amari pointed out. "If the bad ones win, they'll most likely attack the camp. If the good aliens win, they'll probably force the bad ones to abandon the camp before they go back to their own colonies." Her idea sounded pretty reasonable. So reasonable, in fact, that I was almost surprised it hadn't occurred to me.
"Do you think any of the aliens will give up?" Sapphire inquired. That's a good question, I thought as I glanced at the grass-like blur of shapes behind the two sisters. However, I snapped my attention back to the group before the response came out.
"They might. Carmen replied. "The friendly ones have forced the bad ones to surrender before, who's to say they won't do it again?"
"I get the feeling the evil aliens are actually winning." Sapphire stated, gesturing to the crowd of aliens. I hadn't noticed until she pointed it out that the number of friendly aliens was dropping.
"I kind of wanna help." Amari admitted. "I feel like we owe them for saving our camp."
"Well, why don't you help then?" Sapphire asked. Amari seemed more than ready to actually do so.
