-Carmen's POV-
Amari and I both stepped aside to let Aya and Sapphire inside. Aya had her arm around Sapphire's shoulders, walking her into the bedroom. Sapphire sat down on the bed, her face in her hands. Aya sat to her right, while Amari sat to her left. I plopped down on the other bed in the room, facing the three of them.

"So... homesickness." Amari said. could practically see the wheels turning in her mind as she struggled to think of something better to say.

"Yeah." Aya confirmed. "She misses Earth." She added.

"Ah, I see. Well, the best way to overcome homesickness is to ignore it." Amari stated. "So Sapphire, think of something on Mars that you really like, maybe something that you wouldn't have on Earth." Sapphire was silent for a moment.

"Got anything?" Amari inquired. Sapphire lifted her head and nodded. "Good. What is it?"

"It's you guys." Sapphire offered a watery smile. At her words, I felt happiness and pity flow through me at the same time. I was happy to know that she cared about us, but I pitied her because we were the first thing that came to mind, so she might not have had anything in her life better than us.

"Us...?" Amari echoed Sapphire's response. Sapphire nodded. "Not exactly the answer I was expecting, but whatever works." I could see her trying to hide how she felt about this- not like I could really blame her, especially considering I was doing exactly the same thing.

"Well, focus your attention on that thought, or thoughts like it. Try to think of the good aspects of Mars." Amari instructed calmly.  Sapphire was silent again, and I couldn't help but be curious if Amari's idea was actually working.  I could see the ghost of a smile on Sapphire's face, and it easily grew wider.  Amari's tactic had done the trick.
