-Sapphire's POV-
I felt the grin split my face as the memories grew stronger. I remembered meeting Carmen and Amari, I remembered meeting Aya, and everything after that. With each new image, the tears faded a little bit more. Finally, I hugged them all.
"You guys are amazing." I tried not to let myself get choked up again as I spoke those four words. Amari, Carmen, and Aya all smiled at me, hugging me back. When we all let go, Amari spoke.
"You know, we probably wouldn't be so amazing if we hadn't met you and Aya." She pointed out. I felt my watery smile become more certain, happiness taking the place of sadness in my mind. There was still a hint of homesickness in the back of my mind, but I got the feeling that it wasn't coming out again anytime soon. And if it did come out again, I had amazing friends to support me and help me work through it.
"Hey, where's Carmen?" Amari asked suddenly. Aya, Amari, and I looked around the room. When had Carmen left? I hadn't even seen her stand up- and obviously, Amari and Aya hadn't seen her stand up either.
"AMARI, GET OUT HERE!" I heard Carmen yell. Amari stood up, looking confused as she walked out of the room. Aya and I exchanged a glance before we decided to follow her.
When we got out to where Carmen was, I could only stare. No. There were aliens outside of the camp, but instead of going for the camp, the aliens were fighting each other. There were the lighter green aliens and the darker green ones.
"Amari, does that one look familiar to you?" Carmen pointed at one of the aliens. Based off of her tone- and the smirk on her face- Amari would recognize it. Sure enough, I could tell by Amari's shocked expression that she knew something about the alien that I obviously wasn't getting. I wondered what it was.
