Getting A Guide (Chapter 11)

-Amari's POV-
For a while, we didn't find much.  We found mainly alien colonies, which really didn't help us.  I would've given up and gone back to our camp, but we still couldn't find it.  That was when I saw more buildings shooting into the sky, silhouetted by the dim light from the moons overhead.

"Guys, look!"  I exclaimed, pointing at the buildings.  Somehow, I could just tell that they were made by humans.

"Good job, Amari!"  Sapphire praised me enthusiastically.  "We could ask if they know where the camp is!"  And she took off at a near run towards the camp.

"Don't run too fast, we need to make sure Carmen can keep up!"  I yelled, chasing her.  I could hear Carmen's footsteps behind me after a moment- she must've followed us, too.  When we finally caught her, she had already entered the camp and stopped to talk to someone.  Carmen and I lingered a few steps behind Sapphire, letting her handle the talking for now.

"Who are they?"  The girl asked, nodding to us.  Sapphire glanced over her shoulder, obviously not realizing until now that we had been behind her.  Which, a few seconds ago, we hadn't been behind her, so that made sense.

"These are my new friends, Carmen and Amari."  Sapphire introduced.  "And I'm Sapphire, by the way."

"Well, my name is Aya."  Aya replied.  "Nice to meet you all."

"Nice to meet you, too."  I agreed.  Carmen nodded.  Meanwhile, Sapphire was all too eager to get back down to business.

"Anyways, they lost their camp.  Do you know where Camp 102 is, by any chance?"  She asked.

"Camp 102... I think it's down that way."  Aya pointed.  "Hey, maybe I can come with you guys?  I could try to guide everyone, if you needed me."

"Sure!"  Carmen and I replied in unison.  Sapphire shot a dirty look at Carmen, who glared in response.  We only had 4 people with us, and already two of them couldn't get along.
