Chapter 34: Great

I opened the passenger's seat door to get out of my brother's car. "Thanks Kuya! Hatid mo ulit ako bukas ha?"

"Sure." Then he smiled at me. "Ge na. Baka ma-late ka pa. Bye!" He waved at me then I waved back.

It's a bit hot this morning so I tied my hair up in a ponytail and started walking to my classroom. I still got 30minutes before class so I went straight to the canteen not until someone grabbed my ponytail and removed it. Well it's just Carl who pulled it and let my hair down.

"I told you don't tie your hair up." He said while throwing the rubber band up. "Just let it be there."

"Eh.." Then he raised an eyebrow at me. "Ang init kaya. Bakit ba?"

"Wala lang." Then he touched my hair as we sat down inside the canteen. "Braid kita?"

I chuckled. "Pft. Marunong ka?" Then I bursted out laughing. He nodded. It seems he's serious. "Sige na nga. Oh eto." I turned my back to him and handed the band.

After 5 minutes,it's already done and it's really beautiful. He did it very cleanly then I went, "Wow,Carl. You're great!" I said,giving a thumbs up to him. He slightly chuckled. Aw. Cute. I wish we're always like this. "Tara na?" He nodded. Inakbayan nya ako at sya na rin ang nagdala ng bag ko hanggang sa makarating kami sa classroom ko. "Bye,Carl!"

"Bye,my princess." He waved at me as he walked away from me.

I sat down beside Chris then he asked me, "Okay na kayo?" I nodded. "Good then. Kelan pa?"

"Uh... Yesterday." I turned to him. I'm about to tell him what happened. "So yeah. He went to my house yesterday. And if you ever forgot,yesterday is Valentines' Day. He said sorry and you know,he gave me a life-sized teddy bear,bouquet of chocolates and a long message. Take note,it's handwritten. Great,right?"

"Naks naman. Edi mabuti. Wala na kong makikitang nakasimangot na katabi ko. Ang panget kaya tignan." He teased me so I slapped him,not that hard.

The class started then yeah,break time. I ate with Carl's friend and they were so happy that me and Carl is already in good terms. Right after I finished my food,someone tapped me so I turned around and saw Courtney.

"Half day lang daw ngayon." She said to me. I raised and eyebrow that means 'why'. "Oh. Just because we have a lot of time to review for tomorrow's exams." She raised both of her shoulders and slightly rolled her eyes.

"Oh good then. Yay! Half day daw ngayon." I turned to the boys. "Half day ngayon kasi daw exam na bukas." I didn't talk for 10 seconds and realized, "Shit. Yeah. EXAM NA BUKAS. Oh my gosh."

"Kaya mo yan,Zia!" Carl cheered up and laughed. "Cute mo." I rolled my eyes.

"Hey,Courtney. Do you want to review with me later at my house?" She nodded. "Okay. After class,here." I pointed to our table.

"Okay bestie!" She walked away but eventually came back after a minute. "Pero review lang ha. Without daldalan. Tataasan pa kita sa ranking."

"Yeah. Promise." I put my right hand up and smiled at her.

"Oh,nandito ka na pala." Courtney said to me as she sat down infront of me.

"Ay hindi. Wala pa ko dito pre." I picked up my books and stood up. "Hologram ko lang to! Halika na nga."

"Dami mo talagang alam." She said and we headed to the parking lot. We entered the car and headed to our house.

As I enter the house,I saw my parents there on the couch,sitting peacefully while watching a movie. Courtney greeted them, "Goodafternoon po sainyo." And she smiled. "Courtney po. Bestfriend ni Zia."

"Nice to meet you,Hazel." My mom said as she sat up straight.

"Bat naparito kayo?" Dad asked. Tinatamad na ko mag-explain.

"Magre-review po kami para sa exam bukas. Ganun rin po ang dahilan kung bakit half day kami." I still managed to explain it to them. "Dun lang kami sa kwarto ko." So we went to my bedroom and started scanning our book.

We got so serious as the time comes by. It's been 2 hours. Then someone knocked at the door. "Nag-lunch ba kayo?" Mom asked.

"Yes. Sa school pa kanina. Bago kami umalis dun. Why?" I explained.

"Wala lang. May meryenda sa baba kung nagugutom kayo."
"Okay." I faced Courtney, "Kakain ka?" She nodded. "Sige. Ako rin." So we went downstairs to eat.

After that,we really studied for hours. I'm grateful that the promise was not broken by us. It's already 4:30pm but she doesn't want to go home so we talked. I told her about what happened yesterday and she's so happy about it.
