Chapter 35: Dinner

"And now,let's give a round of applause for the 1st honor of Grade 9 level,Zia S. Alexis!" The emcee said,then the audience clapped their hands as me and my parents stepped on the stage's stairs. "She's also Best in Science,Best in Araling Panlipunan, Best in English, Best in Mathematics, Best in Statistics and Best in Information and Communication Technology." I heard the emcee said as I received the medals.

I was about to go back to my chair but someone tapped me. "Hey,Congrats!" Then he gave me a hug.

"Pst. Tumigil ka nga." As I stepped away from him. "Bawal PDA. Plus,andyan lang sa likod natin sina Mommy oh." He turnes around then they waved at him,smiling.

"Sige na nga. Bumalik ka na dun." So I did.

Special day is always a special day. After the Recognition ceremony,we went for a dinner. Super early dinner. Dad drove, Mom's beside him while me,Courtney, and Carl is at the back,the passenger's seat.

"Ang hirap talaga maging third wheel." Maarteng sabi ni Courtney kaya napatawa na lang kami ni Carl sakanya habang nakaakbay sya sakin.

"Nak,Kuya mo,nasan na?" Dad asked so I searched my phone through my pocket but it's not there.

Carl suddenly talked, "Here." He handed my my phone and added, "You gave it to me before the ceremony starts."

"Oh. Thanks" I smiled at him. I checked my phone. Maybe he texted me. He did. "Mommy,susunod na lang daw si Kuya. I-text mo na lang daw sakanya kung san tayo kakain. Kasama nya girlfriend nya."

"Ah sige sige." Then mom started texting Kuya Diether. "Will you be okay,Courtney?" She asked her. Aw concern.

"Opo." Courtney assured Mom. She added, "Maybe I should get a boyfriend soon."

"Ay. Wag ka magmadali. Hintayin mo lang. Dadating yan." Dad suddenly talked. Huwaw. Gumaganon? Kelan pa? So we all laughed then realized we're already at the restaurant. We entered the restaurant and found a seat for 8. Sobra ng isa kaya naman tinawagan ko si Chris kung gusto nyang sumama.

"Sige sure. San ba yan?" Chris asked. So I told him. "Okay. Papunta na ko dyan." Then I hung up. Kilala na rin sya ng parents ko.

Di nagtagal,dumating na rin siya at sina Kuya,with ate Kat. We ordered for our food and while waiting,we talked about a lot of things. About what will happen in the future and such things until the food we ordered,came.

We started eating and after that,we gathered inside the house and had a great time. It was really fun.

"Bhe,alis na ko ha." Courtney suddenly said. "Anong oras na rin kasi eh. Baka pagalitan na ko."

"Aw okay." I said to her then she stood up to go out. I suddenly heard Chris.

"Hatid na kita." He said as he followed Courtney. She turned around. "Gabi na masyado para mag-commute ka mag-isa."

"Hindi na." She smiled. Wow pabebe pa. Gusto rin naman. "Kaya ko na mag-isa." She focused on the door,about to open it. Me and Carl just watched the both of them. They're so cute.

"Arte mo. Ikaw na nga sasamahan eh." Chris said. "Halika na." So he pulled Courtney out. He came back after a while to say "Goodbye po." to my parents. Right after,he put his attention to Courtney and then they vanished.

"Ambait na bata eh." Kuya Diether said. "Pero syempre mas gusto ko tong boyfriend ng kapatid ko."

"Thank you." Carl said then laughed.

"Mommy,hatid ko lang si Kat ah." Paalam ni Kuya. Pumayag naman sina Mommy kaya naman lumabas na sila at nag-drive si Kuya kaya naman kami na lang ni Carl ang natira dito sa sala. Umakyat na kasi sa kwarto sina Mommy para magpahinga.

"What now?" Carl said. "Let's watch a movie? Or you want to do something beside that?" He suggested.

"Let's just stay here. I just want to rest." So I layed down on his lap and he started touching my hair. I was really feeling sleepy so I just rested there.

Carl's POV
As I stared at her,I appreciated how lucky I am to have her. She was asleep. Cutely sleeping on my lap as I continuously touched her hair down to the end of it.

I kept on staring at her beautiful face. Her eyes,nose,lips,and everything is just perfect. She's been asleep for already 30 minutes and I did nothing. I mean,I was just staring at her the whole time. I didn't even thought of getting the remote control to open the television.

My lap started to feel numb so I brought her to her bedroom and she didn't even felt that I moved her to another place. I sat down beside her while she's sleeping. I stayed a few more minutes until I said the words, "Goodnight my forever princess.". I kissed her forehead and left the bedroom.

Ako na lang naiwan dito sa bahay nila kasi panigurado,tulog na si Tita at Tito. Pagbaba ko,nakita ko dun ang kapatid nya. "Hey,bro." Pagbati nya sakin. "Alagaan mo ang kapatid ko ah?"

"Sigurado ako dyan." Then I tapped his shoulder. "Tulog na sya sa kama nya."

"Ah sige."
"Alis na ko,salamat."
"Ingat ka,Carl!"
And then I left their house.

Masyadong bumilis yung kwento,sorry. I tried very hard to make the story short because it's really long.

So ayun,Grade 10 na sila. Yay.
