Chapter 44: Moving on . . .

I'm trying to move on. And fortunately,it's not that hard for me.

After all,it's been a month already after Carl made me feel that our relationship's over already but still,andun pa rin yung sakit kahit papaano. Pag naaalala ko,masakit pa rin eh. Pero syempre,I'm doing my best to forget everything by going out with Courtney and Chris. I don't care being a third wheel because it doesn't feel like it. Andun yung couple na yun pero para lang kaming magkaka-tropa na gumagala. They don't show affection infront of me because they understand me and they don't want me to remember the sweet things I did with Carl.

Biruin nyo nga naman,sa lahat ng pagka-sweet at pagka-saya naming dalawa,mangyayari pa to? Sinong mag-aakala na mauuwi din pala love story namin dito? Wala ngang closure eh. Ano? Papabayaan nya lang akong umasa na babalikan nya pa ko? Well,yeah. Umaasa pa rin ako kasi alam ko naman kung gano nya ko kamahal eh. At lalo akong aasa,knowing na wala naman kaming closure.

"Girl." Courtney suddenly spoke,tapping my lap while the both of us are focused on our phones. She comes over every other day since that day to make me happy. I turned my head to her and she said, "Wag ka nang umasa. Masasaktan ka lang."

I shook my head and held her hands. "Hindi ako aasa ng sobra,okay? Wag ka mag-alala." I said,focusing on my phone again. Then I added, "Kung bumalik man sya, tatanggapin ko sya ng buong-buo. Pero kung hindi,fine. Expecting will just make me hurt more if the thing I was expecting will not happen."

"Mabuti naman." Courtney turned her head to the door as she heard a doorbell. "I think it's Chris. Wait." Then she stood up.

"Pinapunta mo sya?" I shouted but of course she didn't get to hear it. She came back with Chris' arms linking in hers. "Ugh."

"At ano nanamang pinunta mo dito,kupal?" Sabi ko,habang itinuturo-turo sya with my forefinger that's covered with cheese. It was from the chips I'm eating. He acted like he's about to bite it but he didn't.

"Ehem,ehem." Courtney,faking a cough. "Taga-luto natin yan ngayon kaya nandito."

"Oy babae,may maid kami no." I said,after licking the cheese powder from my fingers. "Bat kailangan pa ng panget na taga-luto? Ay,sorry. Wag ka ma-offend bes."

"Uy wow naman." Chris suddenly said. "Eh noon lang pinagpapantasyahan mo pa ko na ang gwapo ko tas ngayon panget na?"

"Aba." I asked, "Pano mo nalaman yun?"

"So totoo nga?" Courtney said,sounding like she's jealous.

"Dati pa yun bes,ano--" Chris cut me off.

He said, "Nabasa ko po kaya diary mo. Nung first day pa nga yun ng classes eh. Sabi mo ang gwapo-gwapo ko."

Ay shet nabasa nya yubg diary ko na sa bag ko lang nakalagay. Napa-facepalm na lang ako pagkasabi nya eh.

I stood up,started to push him to the kitchen saying, "Dati pa yun bes ha. Don't misundertand. Sorry bes. Labyu." When we reached the stove,I said to him, "Oh. Magluto ka na ng meryenda namin dyan. Dapat masarap yan ha. Di ka pinapunta dito Courtney dito for nothing."

"Oo na,sige na." Then he started. I walked to Courtney and sat down beside her.

"Ano ba yan,bes." I said, "Arte mo naman. Pinagluto mo pa si Chris ng meryenda."

"Eh gusto ko eh." She said,crossing her arms over her chest. "Kung nandun ako sa bahay namin,dun sya magluluto. But I'm here,so..." Then Courtney raised both of her hands, shoulder level.

We just had a moment of silence while watching a horror movie.

Courtney suddenly screamed then Chris heard it so he ran over to us from the kitchen and asked me, "Uy panget. Anong ginawa mo?"

"Grabe to. Natakot lang yung girlfriend mo,kasalanan ko?" Pamimilosopo ko.

"Aba. Malay mo,kamukha mo kasi yung multo kaya napasigaw tong pretty princess ko." Pang-aasar nya. Kaya naman,ipinalo ko sakanya yung unan na katabi ko. Eto namang si Courtney,puro tawa lang.

"Babe,yung niluluto mo." Sabi ni Courtney,na-panic sya ng onti.

But she was assured after Chris said, "Tapos na yun kaya tara na."

We stood up and headed to the dining room. I'm still wondering what kind of snack is this,making it Courtney's favorite aside from Jollibee's spaghetti.

It was chicken buffalo wings. Personally,I love spicy foods so I enjoyed eating it.

The two of them looked at me while they were eating calmly. I munched 5 chicken wings already. They laughed at me while my mouth and hands are covered with the food's sauce.

At the end,Chris' buffalo wings that was sided with delicious fries,became one of my favorite foods.
