APPLICANT #15: THE UNSATISFIED PRINCE
Once upon a time in a faraway land lived a king and queen, the couple was skilled in both battle and warfare so they ruled their land with an iron fist but with a warm heart. The land prospered in their rule, gaining the respect and fear of followers and enemies alike. Yet they were only blessed with one heir, his name was Prince Rasha. For years Rasha was guided and tutored by different teachers, he grew into a handsome, brave and intelligent young prince, all would have been good if not for his personality of being tricky and lack of satisfaction. So one day he decides to go out of the castle, With his curiosity and boredom, persuading his ward to switch places with him was no hard task, so for the first time he was able to leave the castle, venturing the outside world with a smile in his face and an overwhelming curiosity of the life far from the castle. After a few miles of walking, he came across a fishing village, where he decides to take a nap near the beach. While taking his rest he overhears a bunch of fisherman talking about a maiden in a secluded hut, the girl was said to possess sheer beauty and talent that suitors flocked her small house, yet no man was ever able to win her heart, he wondered what type of person can attract so many yet seems unable to find a mate. So off he goes to the said house, he arrives during sunset and was surprised to see several young men still gathered in front of the hut, in the midst of excitement the prince joined the group and upon laying eyes on the girl he was immediately hypnotized by the maidens beauty, for the first time prince Rasha stood dumbfounded for he had never experienced a feeling of unease and wanting, from then on he became one of the maidens suitors. The prince found out that the reason why the maiden was unable to get engaged was because of three tests her godfather had required, all had to abide by these for the man was a general in the palace. The First Test was to acquire three things, a rare fish in the south, a fruit from the west and the meat of an animal of the north. He was unable to order such a task for it would be too suspicious and so after returning to the castle to inform his ward he sets out unto his journey, having knowledge on certain things he knew the reason why the said task was tricky, for the fish had to be alive the fruit ripe and the meat salted and dried, after a few weeks he returns triumphant all was in awe of what he has accomplished and so he was the first to ever made it to the Second Test and was allowed to have dinner with the maiden and her family, while they were at the table he could not stop but admire the maidens beauty and so he became more enthusiastic towards his goal, while having dinner the godfather asks how he acquired the things he has brought, he answers "I grew up a wandering trader, I learned these things through my trade" satisfied with his answer the godfather asks once more on how he did it "I first went north to get the meat salted and put it in my saddle so that the preservation would start during my travel, next I went west and bought young fruits and put it in a separate saddle, the fruits being young at that time will ripen during the way, last was the fish from the south which was tricky for the fish usually died from hunger during travels and so I added other live fishes along with it since it is a type that eats other fishes keeping it alive on my journey home" and so again he had managed to impress the general with his wisdom and also amaze the maiden with his charm, passing the Second Test. The Third and last test was to get a house of his own nearby, being so near his goal he could not allow failure at this point, thus he was forced to finally use his influence on this matter. Having no problem with money and with a little bribing along with some forgery he was able to secure a simple house in a nearby forest, finally fulfilling the final test and was given the maidens hand in marriage. Prince Rasha finally attained satisfaction through a simple life with his beloved wife, in a matter of months they were blessed with twins. He was forced to live two separate lives and after a few more years his father finally decides to crown him king, after receiving this news he excitedly confesses everything to his beloved father and their council, on hearing this everyone was shocked but none dared oppose him on his decision. He immediately sends a message to his wife, informing her to wait for him, after a few days he orders a caravan filled with gifts of gold and silver, with guards each dressed in their best armors to march with him towards his home. He returns to an empty hut, no wife or kids to greet him only a grieving general stood before him, angered by this he lunges unto him and where is his family, a grin of sorrow shows up unto the generals face as he tells how they were assassinated, sorrow engulfed him for he realized his mistake, all he could do is kneel and vow revenged unto those who had done this. Grieving the loss of his loved ones, He raged war and punishment unto those whom he deemed possible culprits; but was never satisfied ever again.
