Ten days later

I had gotten away with ignoring Alex for ten days.  And now he has decided that he has had enough.  We were in English when he decided to finally talk to me.  It started out by him throwing little things at me like erasers while I was looking out the window.  Then, he got the hint that I was going to ignore him so he started taking things off my desk.  Still not willing to get a reaction I just raised my hand and Ms. Anderson made him give it back.  Halfway through the class, we had to get in groups for a worksheet and he grabbed me by the arm as Laurie came to grab him instead.  She shot me a death glare -shocker- and I gave her a look of my own back.  It was the look that said that she could have her chew toy.  My gaze was interrupted by Alex getting in my face.  "You can't ignore me forever."

I looked at my red converse and picked at my newly painted nails instead.  He grabbed my chin with a cupped and to pull my up to look at him.  I still refused to look him in the eyes and instead looked at his thick hands.  I swear that he could lift me by one arm.  Then again, I am very skinny.  He held my bracelet covered wrist with the other hand and wouldn't let me go until I looked at him.  I gave in.  "Yes, I can Alexander."

He smirked, "Why do you use my full name?  No one uses my full name."

"Because I take you seriously, and I think that pet names are a term of endearment.  I don't adore you like the other girls do."

"I beg to differ."

"Differ all you want, I stick to my statement."

"Why have you been ignoring me?  In this class, you stare out the window until the bell rings and in math you ask Mike for help instead."

"He has better grades than you and I like nature."

"Cyd, what's wrong?"

"You said that it was okay if I needed time to think."

"When was this?"

"Ten days ago."

"I never said that."

"You wrote it."  He sighs and rubs his eyes.  I take this opportunity to escape by going to the bathroom.  I thought that was the only place where he couldn't get to me.  I was wrong.  I hear a heavy knock on my stall that I consider my save haven.  I've even written in it.  "Cyd, come out...  Please."

He sounded really choked up so I unlocked my door and stepped out slowly.  He grabbed my arms and kissed me.  Again.  Without my permission.  I shoved him away and wiped the taste of his lips off of me.  "What the hell was that?!"

"How did you get the letter?"

"Answer me first."

"No."

"All I have to do is scream."  He considered me for a moment.  After  that, he lunged and covered my mouth with his hand.  I licked it.  "That is disgusting Cyd!"

I pushed him away again and crossed my arms over my chest which pushed up my breasts.  I could truly care less right now.  He moaned slightly.  I would've made a run for it, but he was blocking the door.  "Answer me.  Then, I will let you leave."

"No matter what I say?"

"Yes, but it has to be at least three sentences."

"I went into Ms. Anderson's drawer for the letter.  I wanted to know what was so important about it.  I read it, and I don't want to hurt you too Alex."  He looked at me quizzically.  He was so stunned I just had to shove him slightly before I could leave.  I went to Ms. Anderson, filled out the paper we were supposed to be doing, and asked for a pass to the nurse's office.  She filled one out without question as if she could see the tears that were about to fall.

I grabbed my stuff hastily and left the class.  Alex still hadn't come back yet and I wasn't going to take my chances at seeing him in the hallway so I just left.  Halfway down to my locker (you didn't expect me to go to my locker did you?) I see Alex.  I gave up on keeping the tears locked up, but the stream thickened when I saw him.  He just looked at me with the hurt puppy dog look on his face.  I jogged past him and opened my locker.  I shoved my stuff in it and switched out for math.  I knew that first was my Math teacher's off period.  I went to his class and asked if I could switch and sit in the back.  He showed me the seating chart.  Luckily, there was another red-headed girl in my period and I switched with her.  She always kept her head down and didn't say anything to anybody.  From the back of our head's we even looked similar.  Alex would never know.

I told my teacher that I would be right back and spend the rest of my time wandering the halls.  If I was going to get away with this I had to come in after her, and after Alex.  She was always the first to class so I wasn't to0 concerned about that.  I wandered around for another two minutes and avoided English.   A minute before the bells were scheduled to ring I went and sat on the bench outside the teacher's room and read a book.  The bell rang and as predicted the other red head was the first to show up, and now I knew why.  Her first class was right across the hall.  I continue reading until Alexander walks in.  I keep my head down and hug the book to my chest as I go sit down.  I bump into Alex.  "Watch where you're going, will you?"

"I-I-I-I am so sorry."

"Don't do it again."  I had no idea that I could make him so mad.  I went and sat down.  Alex kept whispering to the girl in front of him trying to get her to respond.  After about five minutes, she turned around and said she wasn't me.  Crap.  I thrust my head under my desk and hit it on the underside.  I cursed under my breath but stayed there.

I saw his feet under my desk, and one was tapping impatiently.  He muttered that I was going to talk to him before the bell rang and he had to go sit down.  I focused on my work for the whole period unlike him.  He kept sneaking peeks over his shoulder to glower at me and mouth things.  It was a rare moment that he terrified me, and this was one.  I waited until I was the last one out of class and ran to Spanish to make it on time.  W-Laurie stopped me outside the door.  "He's mine."

"Take him, I don't want him."

"You liar, who wouldn't want that man?"

"Obviously you.  After all, you did cheat on him."  She muttered what I think was the b-word under her breath and walked away.  She could have Alex back.  I didn't care.  That's a lie.  I did.  I cared so much.  But I cared more about not hurting him.  Which I had already done too much of already.

Spanish passed by with nothing eventful happening, as usual.  I decided that I had enough days of skipping lunch with Chyna so I made my way to the cafeteria.  She got extra fries as usual and I took them off her plate first.

I was having fun joking and eating my fries with extra ketchup when Alex came up to the table.  He leaned against it and his muscles bulged out of his shirt.  He stared at me for a few minutes before Chyna couldn't stand being around him.  She hated angry people.  "We need to talk.  Now.  No more running away."

Uh-oh.
