chapter 11: back to school

(August 21, 1995)

"L.J... L.J...Wake up boy it's time for school!" B.D says while banging on my door. As I am waking up I turn on my radio before heading to the restroom to get cleaned up. Once I finish brushing my teeth and washing my face I go back into my room to see what I will be wearing for my first day at Jemerson High School. After looking in my closet for a good fifteen minutes, I finally decide to wear my black and white FUBU jeans, my black-tee with the black diamond logo airbrushed on it, my black on black Jordan's, and to top it all off my gold's.

As I am looking at myself in the mirror my cell phone rings and it's my girl on the other end telling me she's ready to go. That's when I grab my black rag, wallet, brush, and car keys before running downstairs to the car. As I hop in my fully loaded 1964 Chevy Impala, I pop in my 2pac cd as I head over to LaNisha's house. After driving around for a good twenty minutes I finally arrive at LaNisha's house. Once I pull up into the driveway I get out of my car and go knock on her door. After I knock on the door LaNisha opens it and I couldn't even speak because she was looking so sexy. She was wearing this small black and white bandanna shirt that showed her stomach, a small black jean skirt, some black heels, and some gold jewelry to top it all off.

When she steps out the house I look her up and down and say "damn baby you look real sexy!" After I say that she smiles at me and says "come on baby we gone be late!" That's when I walk her to the car and give her a kiss as I open the door for her to get in. when I get in the car I couldn't keep my eyes off of her, but I decided to pull myself together and head to school.

As we are pulling up into the school parking lot I instantly see my main niggas J-Rock and L.T chilling with their girls NaTonya and Tina. "What's good my niggas?" I say as I get out the car to greet them. Once we all say hi to each other we decided to walk inside to see whose all here. As we are walking in we head to the cafeteria and as soon as we walk in we see Nine toward the back with his fellas, so we go and say what's up to them. "Oh snap look who it is! My niggas what's up with yall?" Nine says as we approach him. That's when I give him and his boys dap and say "not a got damn thing you know how we do!" That's when we all laugh and post up on the wall to scope out all the new faces. While we are just chilling on this wall my girl tells me she's going to the restroom with NaTonya and Tina, so she gives me a kiss before walking off. As they are walking off I couldn't help but look at her ass because it was look real good in that skirt!

As they are walking out of the cafeteria some boys stop them and I see them begin to talk. While they are talking the bell rings, so J-Rock, L.T, and I say bye to nine as we walk toward our girls. "Come on LaNisha lets go get our schedules." I say while grabbing her by the waist and staring at the guy she was talking to. When we begin to walk off the guy she was talking to tells her she will holler at her later. That's when I look at LaNisha and ask who that was. After I ask that she shrugs her shoulder and says "I don't know... Some boy."

Once we arrive at the office there is a long line for the schedules, so LaNisha and I just sit down in the hall and chill. As time goes by the line is gradually getting shorter and it was our turn after about twenty minutes of waiting. Once we get our schedules we see that we have the same class right now, so we go ahead and walk to our advisory together. As we are walking in our class we see that boy that LaNisha was talking to earlier.

"Hey LaNisha boo!" the boy says as we enter the classroom. When he called her his boo I look at him and say "dawg how dare you disrespect me like that! I mean this is my girl or did you not know that?" After I say that he stands up to me and says "no, I know she yo girl... It's just that I don't care that she's yo girl!" That's when I get mad and began to walk toward him as my girl tries to hold me back. As I'm walking toward him all I am doing is cussing him out saying whatever is on my mind and I can hear the teacher in the back telling me to stop and take a seat. Once I get face to face with him I look him dead in the eyes and say "boy if my girl wasn't holding me back I swear on my life I would slide yo punk ass!" After I say that an administrator walks in, so I decide to back down, but before I walk away I told him to watch his back on the street because no administrator will be there to stop me. After I tell him that the administrator tells us both to take a seat. Once order was brought back to the class, my girl and I walk to the other side of the room until the bell rings.
