chapter 38: the truth comes out

September 8th, 2001 and so far everything is going great. There hasn’t been any problems since Mr. Valdez’s death two years back. While I am waking up I notice that it is a good looking day, so I wake my girl up and say “hey let take the kids to the park today.” After I say that she nods her head and gets out of bed. While she goes and gets the boys ready for today I go ahead and get ready myself. When I finish I go into the din and chill with my kids while she gets ready as well.

Once the clock hit one she is finally ready and we head down stairs to get in the car. When we arrive at the park I see Mesha and her man Darrean in the parking lot, but I decide not to pay any mind to them and just chill with my family. While my boys are playing on the slides I am pushing my baby on the swings. After a good fourminutes Mesha and Darrean walk up to us. “Awww look at the pretty couple… Has he cheated on you yet!?” Mesha says with sarcasm in her voice. Once she said that LaNisha gets of the swing and says “bitch you just mad cause you don’t have a man or a family like mine!” When Mesha realized she called her a bitch, she pushes her into my chest. Now you know LaNisha isn’t a punk, so she takes off her earrings and charges at Mesha punching her in the face repeatedly. Of course my girl was getting in her ass, but when Darrean decides to push my girl I decide to pull LaNisha off of her before I have to get in to it with him as well.

Once the fight was stopped a few words were exchanged between them, so that’s when I tell my boys it’s time to go before anything else happens. Since they are still arguing I just grab LaNisha by the hand and head toward the car. As I am getting in the car I tell her to calm down because she is not worth getting worked up over. After she gets in I put the boys in their seat belts and get in the car as well. As I am starting up the car LaNisha gives me a kiss and the boys begin to giggle. That’s when I turn toward them smile and say “who wants McDonalds?” Since that’s my boys favorite place to eat they scream “me!’ at the top of their lungs, so I go ahead and head over there.

Right when we get there the first thing they do is run to the play area. While they are playing LaNisha and I sit down and eat. After we finish eating we begin to talk. Once ten minutes passed and I think there has been enough drama for today in walks DaShane along with two other females. As soon as I realize who she is I try my hardest to avoid her, but she calls my name and this is where the drama begins again. “Who is that female LoJarvis?” LaNisha asked me. So of course I say I don’t know at least until DaShanae makes it even worse and walks behind me. “So why haven’t you been answering my calls boo?” DaShane says. Right when she says the word boo I can see the anger in LaNisha’s eyes. That’s when I know I have to defend myself, so I look at her and say “look baby I promise I don’t know this chick lets just go home!” But of course she ignores me and puts her hand in my face as she looks at DaShanae and says “how do you know him?” That’s when DaShane puts her hand on my shoulder and says “well I met him at the mall a few years back and after we had sex one time he never talked to me again!”
Once she said that we had sex LaNisha gets highly pissed off and says “hell naw LoJarvis… tell me this hoe is lying! Please tell me she is lying LoJarvis!” When she realizes all I could do is look away she automatically gets the kids and heads to the car, so of course I follow behind her to try and apologize, but all she does is tell me to unlock the door. When we both get in the car I try again to plead my case and apologize, but since she is not trying to hear it all she does is slap me across my face and tells me to drive. The whole ride home she didn’t say a word to me or look my way. As we are arriving at the house before icould even turn off the car she jumps out and heads up the stairs. Since I could tell she was really mad at me I just take the kids inside and wait awhile before I try and talk to her again.

After thrity minutes goes by I decide to go in there. As I am opening the door I see her lying on the bed crying, so I get in with her and say “baby I’m truly… truly sorry and I promise it will never happen again. I love you too much baby and I would do anything to make you happy. Lets just leave this in the past and move forward.” After I tell her that I give her a kiss on the check. It gets quiet for a second, but she eventually stops crying and gives me a kiss back, so I put my arm around her waist and begin to caress her stomach while she caresses my head. Now you know what happened after that right… One thing led to another until we both ended up making love.
