chapter 46: good times gone bad

(2 weeks later)

It's five o'clock in the morning I see as I am waking up from a terrible nightmare. When I rise from the pillow and wipe the sweat from my head, I look over to my left and check on my baby. Once I see her peaceful self sound asleep I give her a kiss and head to the restroom to wash my face off. After I do that I give myself a good look in the mirror and get back in bed.

In about five or six hours I wake back up and lay there with my arms around my baby. As we are laying there my kids run in the room and jump on our bed. "daddy can we go to the movies today?" LoJarvis jr. says. That's when LaNisha looks at me and says "don't worry bout it babe I'll take them with me and the girls." So I tell her thank you and give her a kiss. After we kiss the kids run to their room and the phone begins to ring. When I answer it L.T is on the phone and tells me he will be over around two o'clock. When I hang up the phone I look at the clock and realize it's 1:25, so I give my girl a kiss and tell her I'm about to get ready. Once I get cleaned up and dressed I go in the kitchen and grab me a bite to eat before L.T comes over.

As I am waiting on L.T my baby is already about to leave, so before she walks out the door I let her and my boys know I love them and give them a hug. As time passes about ten minutes later L.T and DeRay finally show up banging on my door telling me we have a meeting with B.D. when he says we have a meeting I grab my things and head downstairs. While we are driving down the street we are blasting our music as loud as possible. When we stop at this light some fine yellow bone female drive up alongside of us, so LaTae rolls down his window and says "damn I just gotta give yall some props cause yall some fine ass females!" After he says that the light turns green turns green and they smile at us, so we smile back as we drive off. Once we arrive at B.D's machine everyone has just arrived, so we all walk in together as his butler answers the door.

Once we all get situated in his office he begins to talk and everyone gets quiet. "Hey everyone how are yall doing? I just called this meeting to tell yall that Nine and DeSean are out of jail, so watch your backs...But on the flip side of things I would like to say that I am real proud of yall. Yall have been doing really well on the streets money wise and keeping things under control. So how about yall chill here for a minute and have a few drinks to celebrate!" After he says that we do just as he says and celebrate.

After a good three or four hours of drinking and having fun L.T, DeRay, and I decide to split around seven o'clock. As we are driving into the parking lot I see my girl driving down the opposite end, so I decide to wait for her until she pulls up. Next thing I know this black Hummer with "Kings Boyz" painted on the back window speeds past me heading straight for LaNisha and my kids on the other end. Then all of a sudden within seconds it rams right into them, forcing them to drive of the road into a big Oak tree!

When I saw that I couldn't believe my eyes. All I could do was run to the car and see if they were ok. While I am doing that L.T and DeRay are running toward the Hummer with their guns drawn. As I approach the car all I could do is drop to my knees and break down because it was such a terrible sight. After I do that I pick myself back up and open the door so that I could hold their lifeless bodies in my arms to say my last goodbyes. While I am doing that I ask God "why me... why my family!" Then I decide to just sit there holding my head down as L.T and DeRay come and pick me up. "Everything is going to be ok." they say, but in reality I already knew it wouldn't be the same.

After ten minutes go by the police and ambulance finally arrive and takes them away. Once the commotion died down L.T and DeRay walk me up to my apartment. When I get in there I sit on my couch in disbelief about everything that has just happened. While I am thinking DeRay goes ahead and calls the whole Black Diamond family, to let them know what has just happened. Thirty minutes pass and the whole family shows up to comfort me in my time of need. The last person to show up is B.D and right when he walks through the door he ask to talk to me in the back.

Once we get to the back room I begin to cry a little more as we stand outside my kids room. That's when B.D gives me a hug and says "son I know your hurt, but I promise you we will get Nine and DeSean for what they have done to your family!" When we walk back to the front B.D tells everyone to leave except for L.T and NaTonya. He tells them to stay with me just in case I need anything.

As I am look at old pictures of my family L.T walks in and tells me to call him whenever I need him. After he says that he walks out the room and I just go back to what I was doing. The longer I look at these pictures the more I realize that they are gone. After three hours go by and the clock strikes one I just decide to go to sleep still not believing that I won't be waking up next to my baby tomorrow or any day after that!
