chapter 30: wedding time

Monday June 14th, 1999 I read on the calendar as I am waking up. Which means crunch time is now in affect because now there is only three more days until the big day. Ever since this big day came about I have been struggling, I haven't even got my tucks yet. But today I plan to get everything shoes, jewelry, and the whole nine. Once I get up and running I call up J-Rock and L.T and tell them to meet me at the South Point mall in about two hours. When I get off the phone, I wake up my girl and tell her what I'm doing today, just in case she needed me to do anything for her. That's when she says "okay baby that's fine cause I have to meet up with the girls anyway, so can you take the boys please?" After she asked me that I go ahead and nod my head yes and give her a kiss.

After we kiss I walk to my boy's room, so I can dress them and get them ready to go with me. Once I am through dressing them I put them in their stroller. After I strap them in their stroller I walk into the kitchen to get their baby bags set up. When I finish that I grab my wallet, keys, and cell, but before I leave I let my girl know I'm going to be back later. As I am getting in my car I call my niggas to see if they are up there already. When they say yes I let them know that I am on my way, but before I go to the mall I stop at McDonalds to get my boys some juice.

When we get to the mall I called J-Rock and L.T up and told them to meet me in the Gucci store. When we get to the store we automatically start looking around at all the different tucks. Since our wedding colors are gold and white, I decide to wear this clean white tucks with a silk gold bow tie and cover bun. As for everyone else I want them to wear a gold tucks with a white bow tie and cover bun.

Once my decision was made I call the manager over, so that I could get things situated. When he comes over I tell him exactly what I want and he asks me for my measurements, but since everyone isn't here I had to call everyone up and get them. Once we get finally got the clothes out the way I look at some of their finest gold and white shoes. As I am looking I see these clean gold Gucci shoes and another pair of the same shoe in white, so of course I had to get them so I call up everybody again and get their sizes. After I did all of that I was set and ready to buy my gear, so I go to the manager and talk to him about everything that I need. Once I explained everything to him he told me to come back in about an hour so that he can go to the back and make sure he had everything I was asking for. After he tells me that J-Rock, L.T, and I walk over to the candy shop to get the kids a little treat.

When we get their candy we walk around the mall to make time pass a little faster. After that hour finally goes by we walk back up to the store to see if the man was through. Right when we walk in and he brings everything to the counter to ring it up, everything came out to $9,459.00, so I went ahead and gave him my credit card. After he rang me up we grabbed the things and walked to the car to put them up. Since J-Rock and L.T were going to see the boys later they put the clothes in their car except for my things. After they did that they tell me that they will holler at me later and drive off. When they leave my kids and I walk back in the mall just to chill and kill some time.

As I am killing time I walk over to this store called Soldiers Gear to get Tae'Sean and LoJarvis some new clothes and shoes. While I am in there I see Mesha walk in with some dude, so I just decide not to pay her any attention. While I am looking at shoes for my kids Mesha and that guy come up to me. "How may I help you?" I say as they are just staring at me. After I say that Mesha looks at and my kids and says "hey L.J I just wanted you to meet my future baby daddy Darrean." When she tells me that I ask her why is she telling me that because I don't give damn about anything she does. That's when Darrean looks at me up and down and decides to push me into the clothes rack. When he does that all I could do was wonder why the hell he would do that. Then next thing you know he pushes me again and says "yea homeboy I heard about you!" So at this point I'm mad so I go ahead and push him back and he falls right into the shoe rack.

When he hits the ground the manager comes over to see what's going on. While he get up he says "naw sir aint nothing going on." After he says that the manager walks off and that's when he grabs Mesha's hand and tells me to watch my back before walking off. As they were leaving I bend over to check on my kids. Since it looked as if they were tired I went ahead and gave them a bottle so they can go to sleep.

After I give them their bottle I buy their new clothes and shoes and then head over to the jewelry store Gold for Days. As I am walking in the store I start to look around and I instantly see this bad ass necklace, bracelet, watch, and ring set. When I saw that I knew right then and there that I just had to have it. So I call the jeweler aver and tell him I want that set as well as some earrings to match. That's when the jeweler says okay and that he will ring it up.

While he is ringing me up my phone begins to ring and when I answer it, it's my homie Dontay telling me that he is in town and wants to meet up with me. That's wheni tell him B.D's number so that he could give him a call and they could fix something up since I am just swamped with all this wedding stuff. After I do that I go to the jeweler and pay him for my stuff so that I could leave.

On my way out the mall this fine looking female comes up to me and tell me my sons are cute, so I tell her thank you. After I thank her she asks me what my name is, so I tell her my name and then she tells me that her name is DaShanae. "So LoJarvis why are you up here without your girl?" she asks me with a smile on her face. That's when I let her know that I'm just buying a few things for my wedding, but now I'm on my way out. But before I leave I tell her to put her number in my phone and that I will give her a call tomorrow. After we exchange numbers I give her a hug and leave. Once I get to my car I put everything up and then I head home so that I could get ready for the next day.
