chapter 17: big time bust

As Nine and I are pulling up to the old warehouse I cut toward the back like the plan said for me to do, so that I could wait for D-Mac's people to arrive. While I am waiting I see three Cadillac's drive up and stop right in front of me. Once they turn off their cars bout six niggas get out and line up in front. Now since I am pretty much by myself I begin to get a little suspicious and wonder why Nine just wanted it to be me and him on this job. After sitting in the car just thinking for about five minutes on whether I should get out of the car I decide to call B.D and make sure everything is going down like it should be.

As I am calling B.D one of the guys begins to approach my car, so I grab my gun out of the glove compartment. "Aye bro... Roll down your window!" the man says while tapping on my window with his finger. At this point I was nervous and B.D wasn't picking up, so I just put the phone down in the seat without hanging it up and roll the window down. "What up my nigga?" I say as the window is being rolled down. "You got that shit?" he responds in a deep voice. Once I nod my head yes I decide to ease myself out of the car, but I instantly stop when I see about eight police cars surround my car. Next thing you know I'm stuck in the middle and can't drive away, so I ease back in the car and try to see if I could reach B.D again. While I am dialing his number the police get out of their cars and point their guns at me.

"LoJarvis Wilson put whatever is in your hand down... Step out the car... And get on the floor with your hands behind your head!" a police officer yells at me as the people I was doing business with leave without nothing being said to them by the police. Once I realize the police aren't going to say nothing to them I know there is some dirty work being done here, so I go ahead and do what they say so I won't cause anymore drama than there already is. As I am getting on the floor they instantly bum rush me, pat me down, and put the cuffs on me before throwing me in the back seat of one of their cars.

While I am in the back seat I am watching them search the car and at this point I knew I was going down for a long time. As I am looking at them open my trunk I begin to look around shaking my head because I knew there was no helping me now I see Nine chilling with one of the policemen laughing at the me and the whole situation. At that point I knew what was up. I knew for a fact that Nine set me up the whole time.

Once they finish searching my car a policeman finally gets in the car and takes me downtown to the station. As we are pulling up into the station a flashback of the first time I went to jail comes across my mind. Once the car stops they take me out and bring me inside. When they walk me inside they take me to the back to take my mug shot. Then they take me to this all white holding area where they strip me of all my personal items. As they are taking my phone from me they realize it's still connected to B.D, so the guy searching me turns it off and says "you won't be needing this for a good minute!"

After they take my things from me I get escorted to the interrogation room. As I am sitting in there with my head hung low a man walks in and I instantly pick my head back up. "Well... Well... Well... Look who we have here... LoJarvis Wilson... Do you realize I have been trying to pin something on you ever since you have gotten out of juvenile? And now I finally got yo ass! You got anything you want to say boy?" the police officer says while walking in and turning on a tape recorder. Once he turns that tape recorder on I just look off and say nothing to him because as far as I'm concerned they know everything they need to know. "Oh so you not gone talk to me boy? It's all good you don't have to because I already have everything I need and know everything I need to know." he says while laughing at me. After he laughs at me I got a little mad, so I look at him and tell him that I want my phone call.

When I tell him I want my phone call he grabs me by the arm and escorts me to my temporary cell where I can use the pay phone. Once he closes the cell door and locks it I pick up the pay phone and call B.D. After a good three rings he finally picks up and tells me to chill he got my message and that he is also on his way. Once he told me that I hung up the phone and sat on the cold hard bench as I wait for B.D to arrive.

Hours pass by and I gradually fall asleep on the bench, but I am suddenly awakened by a lot of commotion going on in the background. "What in the hell is going on?" I say to myself while rising from the bench. As I am walking up to the bars of the cell I see B.D, J-Rock, L.T, LaNisha, NaTonya, and Tina raising hell. After they are arguing for about twenty minutes the chief policeman comes in and says "hold the hell up right now... What is going on here? This is a police station not a zoo or a got damn playground!" After he says that everyone stops talking until my baby LaNisha says "naw forget that why do yall have my baby behind those bars?" After she says that you can see the fire in the police officers eyes, so B.D looks at everyone and tells them to go to the car while he handles everything.

Once everybody is gone B.D asks the chief police officer if they could talk in his office, so they begin to walk to the back. While they are in the back I can't hear anything that is going on so I try and be patient and wait for them to come back out. During my waiting time I get restless because I want to know what's going on in there. After forty minutes pass they finally come out and by the look on B.D's face you can tell he doesn't have good news for me. "Hey L.J let me holler at you for a second." B.D says while walking to my cell. As he places his hands on the bars of my cell he looks at me and says "now look I have some bad news... They aren't going to let you out tonight because they say they have good reasons for keeping you in jail until your court hearing. But the good news is your hearing will be in about three to four weeks. I just need you to stay strong for me while I work on getting you a good lawyer." Once B.D said that I gave him a hug through the bars and tell him that I have faith in him. When he lets go of me he looks at me one last time and says "son... I won't fail you" before walking out the station.
