chapter 43: the turn around

(1 year later)

While I am chilling in my cell reading a book the guard comes to me and tells me I have a visitor, so he places the hand cuffs on me and walks me to the visiting room. As I am walking into the visiting room I see the messenger of the gang Darius. When I approach him I dap him up and we sit down. Once we are seated he looks at me and says “well L.J, B.D told me to deliver some fairly bad news to you… yo girl LaNisha appears to be sleeping around with Nine! Oh and that’s not all your son LoJarvis jr. is in the hospital. We don’t know the full story of what really happened, but rumor has it that Nine is behind it… I’m sorry man!” after he said that I get furious, so I tell Darius to tell B.D that DeRay, L.T, and I want to get out as soon as possible. Since we have been pretty good since that encounter with Darrean when we first got in, we should be able to get out on good behavior. That’s when he says ok and heads out the visiting room.

As I am being escorted to my cell I see L.T and DeRay standing outside the cells, so when the guard drops me off I tell them what’s going on back home and they can’t believe it. Then I tell them not to worry because If everything works out we should be getting out on good behavior pretty soon. After I tell them that it is already time for lock down, so we all get in our cells and just chill until they turn off the lights. While I am laying down in the dark cell I pull out the picture of my family. As I am looking at it I rip LaNisha out of the picture and throw it across the cell. After I do that I close my eyes and gradually fall asleep.

Two weeks later the guard wakes us up and tells everyone to go to the cafeteria except for DeRay, L.T, and I. As everyone is leaving and we are left behind the guard tells us that we are being released on good behavior. Once he tells us that we decide to leave everything behind because we don’t want anything that will remind us of this place. As we are being escorted to the front desk a police officer hands us our other clothes that we wore the day we were in court. After we put on our clothes we walk outside and see B.D’s limo waiting for us outside. As we are getting in we are greeted by a few Black Diamonds. Once we are in and ready to go I tell them to drop me off first.

After driving for about an hour and thirty minutes we finally arrive at my apartment. As I am getting out I look around and see that blue Cadillac, so I tell L.T and DeRay to roll with me just in case anything I can’t handle by myself goes down. As we are walking into my apartment I see my boys on the floor watching television, so of course I give them both hugs and kisses because I missed them just as much as they missed me. After we hug and I make sure they are ok I ask them where is mommy and that’s when Tae’Sean looks at me and says “mommy is in the room with uncle Nine.”

When he said that I tell my niggas to stay out here while I go to the back. As I am opening the door to my room I see Nine and LaNisha having sex right before my eyes. Once I witness this I instantly slam the door behind me. When I do that they both jump up with fear and L.T and DeRay run in to see what’s going on. When they run in I grab Nines gun from off my dresser point it at him and say “what the hell is going on here? Are you crazy or something? Why is this nigga around my damn kids?” After I ask all of those questions LaNisha looks at me with a pissed off look upon her face as if I am in the wrong. “Look L.J I might be your wife but it sure doesn’t seem like it! Oh and I guess just because I’m Mrs. Wilson I’m supposed to be goody-goody? Well think again! This is my second time cheating on you… not saying that it is right, but shit how many times have you cheated on me and be real?... Wait let me answer that one for you… I guess it’s too many for you to even count right, but guess what I still love your ass for some odd reason!”

After she said all of that I am somewhat speechless, but then I regain my composer and say “why Nine LaNisha? Of all the niggas in the world why this nigga?” That’s when she looks at me in the eyes and says “while you’re asking me that shit, I’m going to ask you a question. Why Mesha L.J? Because not only did you have sex with her you had a kid by her as well. But don’t get me wrong I love jr. with all my heart and that will never change.” That’s when I think for a minute scratching the side of my head with the gun, but then I just decide to tell Nine to get out of my house before I kill him.

As he is putting on his clothes he walks up to me and says “make me leave bitch!” once he said that I punch him so hard in the face he falls to the ground, so I pick him up and throw him against the wall while I punch him repeatedly. As I am doing that I hear LaNisha in the background tell me to stop, but I pay her no attention.

After a few minutes goes by L.T and DeRay pull me off of him. Right when they pull me off my kids come in the room and next thing you know he regains composer and sucker punches me in the face putting me in a slight daze. While I am a little out of it DeRay and L.T start beating his ass left and right. As soon as I gather myself together I tell them to throw him out of my house. Once they leave I tell my kids everything is ok and to go watch television. Once they walk out I look at LaNisha as she begins to put on her clothes. While she is getting dressed I begin to pase back and forth and LaNisha looks at me and says “what’s wrong with you now? He’s already gone you should be happy!”

When she said that I stop pasing and say “hell naw… how you gone put me on the spot like that? You just embarrassed me in front of my home boys and now you expect me to be cool about it… damn LaNisha I just caught you having sex with a nigga that wants to kill me!” After I say that LaNisha gets real mad and says “you know what LoJarvis Wilson forget you! You act like the world revolves around you and it don’t! Right now I am about two seconds from leaving you and the only thing you can think about is your ass! If it weren’t for those kids and the deep love I have for you I would be gone! But let me ask you this why does everything have to be ok when you cheat on me four, five, six times and have a baby by one? But when I do it out of anger because of all the bullshit I have heard since you have been in jail you act like I just stabbed you in the back!”

After she says that I think for a good minute then I sit on the bed and look her in the eyes and say “look LaNisha you know I love you with all of my heart, but then again you knew how I was before we got married. I have been trying to change for the better, but it is really hard.” But of course she doesn’t take anything I say to heart and she just walks off, so I have no choice but to follow her and ask where is she going. Then all  she does is grabs the keys to my truck and tells the kids to come with her. Before she walks out the door she looks back at me and says “how about you call me when you are done changing!” Before she closes the door I ask her why is she acting like this, but she doesn’t say anything to me all she does is reaches into her purse and throws me my cell phone. “Oh yeah don’t forget to call your little girlfriend DaShanae!”
