chapter 21: back on the grind

January 5th it reads on the calendar as I am waking up. As I rise from the comfort of my new bed I still can't believe that I have been out of jail for two days now. Before I get out of the bed, I lean over to give my girl a kiss. Then I hear the phone ring, so I get up to go answer it. Once I get downstairs to answer the phone, the person on the other end was B.D. He was basically telling me that it was time for me to make some money. After he said that I knew that it was time for me to get back on my grind!

As I am hanging up the phone I head up the stairs and hop in the shower, so that I could get cleaned up. While I am doing that I am trying to do it as quiet as possible so that I don't wake up my baby. After about twenty-five minutes I get out and smell something good coming from downstairs, so I go ahead and put a towel around my waist as I head to the kitchen.

When I get down there I see my baby girl LaNisha cooking me some breakfast, so I walk over to her wrap my arms around her and give her a kiss. "Good morning baby girl what you cooking?" I say as I am looking over her shoulder. That's when she responds "some bacon, grits, eggs, and biscuits for my baby of course." After she said that I smile and say "damn girl I see you hooking it up for yo man. Well I'm going to go up stairs and get dressed before I eat, and then I want to talk to you about something." After I tell her that I give her a kiss and head up the stairs to put on some clothes.

Once I am done putting on my clothes my baby walks in the room with my breakfast on this tray. As she is walking toward me she tells me to lay down so that she could feed it to me. When she is through feeding me my breakfast she wipes my mouth and asked me what did I have to talk to her about. That's when I sit up in the bed and tell her what the phone call was about and ask her how she feels about that. After she thinks about it for a minute she says everything is cool with her as long as I don't get hurt. See that right there is exactly why I'm with her because she doesn't trip like most females do.

Since it was going on 12:30 I tell my girl that I'm going to head out for a little while. As I am walking out the door and down the street I see that old ass pimp D-Mac, but I decide not to speak to him because it looked as if he were having a problem with one of his hoes! While I am walking up to J-Rock's house I see LaTae's car parked out front and that lets me know that they are there for sure, so I go to the door and ring the bell. After a few seconds J-Rock's little sister Mesha answers the door. Now I haven't seen this girl in about a year and when she answers the door I notice little Mesha isn't little anymore and she is actually looking kind of food. But since she was on the phone when she answered she just invites me in and walks me to where the boys are at.

"Oh snap look at who it is! It be that boy LoJarvis... What's good my nigga?" J-Rock asked as I walk up to them and shake their hands. That's when I respond "you know me just maxing and relaxing as usual." After I say that I tell everyone about me starting back hustling and of course everyone agrees because since I been gone they have just been on chill mode. Now that I'm back though, we gone make more money than ever before.

As time flies by we are doing nothing but talking about how J-Rock mom died, how L.T finally got his own crib, and how LaNisha been getting into it a lot with her mom and she doesn't really talk to her anymore. Other than that we were just smoking and drinking, at least until L.T gets a phone call on his cell from B.D telling us to meet him in the court yard at nine o'clock. When he gets off the phone we all start wondering what this meeting could be about, but none of us have a clue except for what happened the night before.

When eight thirty roles by, we all start to gather up in L.T's car and head over to the court yard. As we drive into the parking lot we see B.D and the rest of the crew is already here, so we all get out of the car and head over to them. Once we approach them B.D begins to talk. "I'm glad we all could make it tonight. The reason why I called this meeting to order is because we have some problems. The problem is our little friend Nine has a new gang called the Kingz Boyz. And what they trying to do is take over everything we have established, so we have to get back to work as soon as possible! And L.J I'm leaving Nine up to you, so handle your business."

After he said that all that's going through my head is what I should do. After thinking for a minute I go ahead and look at B.D and say "look here Mr. Diamond, check this out. I say we take over their territories first and make some of their niggas come to us and who ever doesn't join we cap out... Oh and don't worry about Nine cause I got plans for him ya feel me!"

Once everybody heard my plans they all agreed, so since there was nothing more to be said Billy goes ahead and dismisses us. As everyone begins to walk off B.D tells me to stay behind, so that we could talk for a minute. When I walk toward him, he puts his arm around my shoulder and says "L.J I know you need money and since you are like a son to me, I want to give you a few grand until you get back on your feet. Oh yeah and since Nine is mainly after you I think you will need some protection. So here... Take these two fully loaded gats. Now go ahead and head home your girl is waiting on you.

On my journey home the walk was very dark and quiet. Since I know some people want me taken out I'm really ready for anything and everything. Since this walk was long it gave me the time to think about a few things. With this time I had to myself a lot of things became really clear. I want to have a baby!
