After I showered and got dressed I walked in the kitchen and made me a sandwich and waited for Cam to finish up. Twenty minutes later he walked out my sister's room smiling.

"Man the things your sister can do with her mouth should be illegal." He said smiling, I punched him the chest and he started laughing. "I eat them weak ass punches." He said taking my sandwich and biting it.

"If you were any other nigga I'd beat your ass." I said laughing even though I was dead ass serious.

"Yeah I hear you, are you ready to go?" He asked grabbing my keys. I nodded my head and we walked out to my car with Cam getting in the driver seat. We took off and I started thinking about Cam and my sister Liberty, it wouldn't be so bad to have Cam as my brother in law. Even though we were both in high school and my sis was in college Cam and Liberty had been dating damn near five years, Cam was my best friend and we already called each other brothers. "What are you over there thinking about bro?" Cam asked me.

"I'm thinking about how you need to stop playing and let me fuck your pretty ass." I said laughing.

"Fuck outta here with that gay shyt Legacy, nah seriously what are you thinking about?" Cam said laughing. That's why he was my best friend, he never judged me.

"You think you and my sis can survive when we go off to college?" I asked.

"Yeah man I love Liberty, and for some strange reason she loves me back. You know better than anyone the hell we've been through and were still together it'll take more than a little distance to break us up. Plus I won't be able to do anything with your ass watching me." Cam said laughing.

"True....... So what did you think of Devin?" I asked changing the subject.

"He seems cool, I still can't believe I got a brother that's the same age as me but I could see myself hanging out with him when we moved to Texas. What did you think about him?" Cam asked me.

"Honestly I couldn't really tell I was too busy focused on Lorenzo's sexy ass. Man that's one nigga I'd bottom for." I said

"Man you're crazy as fuck." Cam said laughing.

"Fuck you Camden, nigga that's why you got a girl's name." I said laughing.

"And your mom just opened a dictionary and picked the first word she saw, Legacy she should've named your ass Tragedy." Cam said as we pulled up to the hospital. We got out and walked to the room, and my heart started beating really fast.

"I don't think I can do this....." I said the closer we got to the room. Cam put his arm around my shoulder and we walked in the room, I couldn't see anything because the curtain was hiding him but I knew he was in there. I moved the curtain and came face to face with my dad. He looked exactly like he did the last time I was here, like he was sleeping but I knew different.

"How's it going Mr. Larry?" Cam asked sitting in the chair next to my dad. I just stood there not saying anything as Cam told my dad how he was taking care of Liberty and how much she wanted to come see him, but she was busy in school. I sat back and let Cam tell my dad everything he'd want to hear, I wanted to speak but I couldn't find my voice. "I'm going to give you a minute, I'll be right outside bro." Cam said walking out the room leaving me in there with my comatose dad.

"Hey dad....... I'm not...... I'm not sure what to say, I just wished you wouldn't have went into work that day, I wished you never responded to that call then you wouldn't be here. I love you dad........" I said wiping the tears and walking out the room, I couldn't stay in there any longer.

"You good bro?" Cam asked me. Nah I wasn't good, why did my dad have to be a cop, why did my dad have to get shot seven times, why didn't I know if he was going to see me graduate or see me go to college? But I didn't say any of this to Cam because he already knew I wasn't good. I turned to him and put on my brave face smiling.

"Couldn't be better, you ready to get outta here? Hospitals make me sick." I said walking past him. We got back to my house and Liberty was standing outside waiting for us. She gave Cam a hug and a kiss and hit me.

"Where'd ya'll go?" She asked looking at us.

"We didn't go anywhere big head now what's behind your back?" I asked trying to grab the paper but she was too quick.

"A letter for you." She said opening the letter, I noticed the Texas Longhorns logo on the envelope and got really nervous. "Hmmm....... damn I knew were stupid but really Legacy." She said looking at me.

"What..... what does it say." I asked nervously. Liberty looked at me sadly and I just knew I didn't get in.

"You got in." She said smiling. "YOU GOT IN." Liberty said hugging me. Cam patted me on the shoulder and smiled.

"I'm about to go see if I got in I'll call ya'll when I find out." Cam said kissing Liberty and driving off, ten minutes later I got the call that Cam got in too so I was really happy. Not only was I going to be in college with my best friend, I was also going to be closer to the dude I've been crushing on since I first seen him play at Georgia....... Lorenzo Gonzalez.
