We had just had a game in Miami and we weren't leaving until tomorrow night which gave us plenty of time to go out and enjoy the city. But I wasn't really feeling it, I know Miami has some of the sexiest dudes around but I couldn't get my mind off of Marcus. I knew I should just let it go and move on but I couldn't stop thinking about him, it was like once we kissed everything in me came undone and was made all over. I laid back and stared at the ceiling wondering what Marcus was doing right now, wondering if he was with Khalil I really needed someone to take my mind off of Marcus. There was a knock on the door and I got up to answer it to find one of my teammates standing there.
"Lorenzo were all going out tonight you wanna come?" He asked me.
"Nah man I think I'm just going to stay in and sleep, ya'll go out and enjoy the city maybe next time." I said, he looked at me and shook his head before walking away. I laid back on the bed and my phone started ringing, I looked down and saw Khalil was calling. "What's up bro?" I asked smiling.
"How'd your game go?" He asked.
"Well if you would've watched you would've known we won." I said laughing.
"My bad bro I had to deal with Roseline's crazy ass. I'll definitely be at your next home game for sure though." Khalil said.
"You better, so how's Devin adjusting to living with you?" I asked.
"So far so good, he's already using Marcus against me." Khalil said laughing, I tried not to let that get me down but it did.
"Oh yeah what did he do?" I asked.
"He had Marcus ask me if he could go see our dad but I don't know Enzo, I don't want Devin to get hurt again." Khalil said.
"I could go over there tomorrow if you want me to scope the place out I'm not really doing nothing and it might help me take my mind off of..... things." I said.
"Zo you don't have to, I already ask way too much of you. I can't let you get involved in my drama." Khalil said.
"It's no problem Khalil that's what family is for. Look I'll go over first thing in the morning and I'll let you know how it goes." I said.
"Thanks Enzo I owe you big time." Khalil said. "Call me tomorrow bro." Khalil said before hanging up. I pulled the cover over my body and a decided to fall asleep, trying to push Marcus Riley from my brain.
The next morning I was up and out, Khalil had texted me the address and I drove to the place. I felt like a stalker sitting down the street from there house but it gave me an escape from my problems. For the first few hours nothing really happened, then a car pulled up and I tall dark skinned dude got out, even I could tell from this distance he was sexy ass fuck but young around 18 or 19. He wore nothing but a white beater and black cargo shorts, his short hair was cut low and the gold chain shone from his neck. I watched him bang on the door and and a light skinned dude in white cargos opened it without a shirt on, the two of them started wrestling in the doorway before the light skinned dude went back inside and came back out with a black beater, they both hopped in the car and drove off. I decided to see if Khalil's dad was there so I got out and walked to the door, I started to knock but froze. What if I was at the wrong house? What if they were crazy? I started to turn around when the door opened.
"Boy I told you about leaving your....... Lorenzo?" Kadeem Cunningham said staring at me.
"I'm sorry for stopping by unannounced, I heard you were living down here and thought I'd come say whats up." I said looking at Khalil in about twenty years.
"Are you just going to stand there or are you going to come in." He said smiling at me. "Damn I was on my way to work but this is way more important. How the hell are you boy?" He said smiling at me.
"Look if you were leaving and could always come back." I said standing up.
"But relax, you can be late when you're the boss. God it's good to see you boy, last time I saw you, you and Khalil were both snot nosed little trouble makers. Now how have you been Lorenzo?" He asked.
"I've been good, but honestly I'm not here to reminisce........ I'm just going to cut the the chase Kadeem, I came over here for Khalil. Devin wants to meet you and I thought it would be better if I talked to you first." I said.
"Devin? Khalil and Devin are together?" He asked me.
"Yeah they live together in Houston. Khalil's not so sure about Devin meeting you, Khalil's my best friend and I feel bad about telling you this but Khalil feels you abandoned them." I said.
"Does Khalil know why I left?" Kadeem asked.
"He has a pretty good idea but that's something you should talk to him about. I'm just here to find out if you'd be open to Devin coming down here and meeting you." I said.
"My door is always open to my boys, how old is Devin now?" He asked.
"Devin's 18 and a senior in high school." I sad looking him in the eyes.
"Same age as Cam. I would love for Devin and Khalil to meet there brother and sisters." Kadeem said.
"Alright I'll give Devin your number and ya'll can work that out." I said, before Kadeem could speak the door opened and the two dudes from earlier walked in.
"DAD! I left my key and.... who's this?" The light skinned one asked looking at me.
"Are you fuckin stupid Cam this is Lorenzo Gonzalez he plays for the Spurs right?" The dark skinned dude said eyeing me with interest.
"How am I supposed to know you know I don't watch basketball. Anyways nice to meet you dad since you haven't left for work let me hold a couple dollars." Cam I guess his was asked. I looked over at the dark skinned dude and he was staring at me openly.
"Don't you have somewhere to be Cam?" Kadeem asked.
"Yeah but I can't go to the mall broke, didn't you always tell me that a man should always have some money in his pocket." Cam said giving his dad the same sneaky grin Devin would get whenever he'd ask me for money. Kadeem grabbed his wallet and handed Cam some money.
"Now both of ya'll get to outta here, Legacy don't get fucked up I'll know if ya'll been spending my money on weed." Kadeem said looking at both of them. They both walked out and Kadeem shook his head. "I don't know what his mom was thinking naming that boy Legacy, but here's my number Lorenzo tell Devin and Khalil to call me." Kadeem said standing up. I stood up to checking my watch realizing that I've said longer than I wanted.
"Alright here's my number if Devin hasn't called in a couple days call me and I'll see what's going on." I said as we walked out the house.
"I really appreciate this Lorenzo." Kadeem said pulling me into a hug. I walked to my car and just before I got there Legacy pulled up next to me and jumped out.
"Ayy hold up real quick." He said running around the car towards me. "Yo can I get a picture with you or something nobody is going to believe I met you." He said smiling at me.
"No problem man." I said as we took a picture together.
"Look I don't want to come off weird or nothing but you mad cute dude." He said smiling at me, and I was shocked by his openness. "I mean not like that but, like I know you probably got bitches all over your dick and stuff." He said backtracking.
"It's coo dude." I said eyeing him with a little more interest now. We stood there staring at each other when Cam ruined the moment by honking the horn and yelling for Legacy to hurry up.
"Look it was nice meeting you Lorenzo." Legacy said running to the car and hopping in the driver seat.
"Yeah it was nice meeting you too." I whispered as they drove off, normally I didn't go for younger dudes but there was something about him that I couldn't figure out yet. I got in my rental just as my phone rang I looked down and saw it was the last person I'd expect to call me. "What's up?"
"Enzo we really need to talk." Marsean said before hanging up............
