I was sitting at work thinking about Khalil, ever since Valentine's Day he's been acting weird. Not towards me but he seemed jumpy and nervous all the time especially when we were out in public, he was always looking over his shoulder as if someone was watching us. Whenever I would ask him about it he'd play it off and say he was looking out for paparazzi, but I could tell he wasn't telling the whole truth. I sat at my desk going over case files but I couldn't really focus because I was ready for lunch, fuck it I got up and went to Tonya's office and asked her if she wanted to go to lunch. We drove to my favorite restaurant and got a table it had been a while since I had a chance to talk to Tonya and I really missed talking to her.

"So how was your vacation?" She asked.

"Amazing...... but I want to talk about you, what did you and Marsean do for Valentine's Day?" I asked.

"Umm Marcus I need to tell you something......" Tonya said avoiding eye contact.

"Please tell me ya'll didn't breakup, Tonya ya'll were supposed to last." I said, Tonya rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"No actually things couldn't be any better between us..... actually things are perfect. So perfect in fact that we've decided to get married." She said pulling a ring out her purse, I was too stunned to talk. "Marcus there's something else...... well I've been thinking about this for a while and I've decided to move back home and to move in with Marsean, I've already put my two weeks in and I have a job lined up back in Columbus." Tonya said looking me in the eyes.

"Tonya are you sure? I mean what about your house down here, are you really ready for this?" I asked.

"Like I said I've thought about it for a while, I've prayed on it and everything always comes back to Marsean, you can never really be sure if you ready to get married but the one thing in my life I am sure of is I love your brother and as for the house I'm going to rent it out." Tonya said.

"Tonya I'm really happy for you, seriously I am. I'm just sad I'm losing my best friend." I said sadly.

"Yeah but your gaining a sister. So enough about me now tell me about your vacation and don't skip any details." She said smiling.

"Like I said it was amazing for the most part, then we had to come home early because of Devin's foster dad. I feel sorry for the kid he has so much going on I mean with his ex claiming to be pregnant, graduation coming up, college, and now this it's a lot for an 18 year old." I said.

"He's a strong kid..... if he's anything like Khalil then I'm sure he'll make it through. What about Lorenzo, how's he doing?" Tonya asked.

"I'm not sure I haven't talked to him he's been so busy lately." I said.

"Do you mind if I join you?" I voice said from behind me, I turned to find Roseline's sexy yet crazy cousin Javier standing behind me smiling. I couldn't even respond before he sat down. "Did you get my flowers?" He asked grabbing my fork and taking a bite of my food.

"What flowers?" I asked nervously.

"Well they were from Roseline to Khalil........ but I bought them with you in mind." Javier said.

"You..... sent those roses?" I asked shaking.

"Yeah I thought you'd enjoy them. Roseline says hello by the way. She's really pissed to be in jail, I told her to leave you and Khalil alone but she's hard headed. She seems to think you and Khalil won't last and you're just a phase. Whenever she found out ya'll were spending Valentine's Day in she wanted to get the message to Khalil that she was still around." Javier said smiling.

"How....... how did you know we were in Miami?" I asked.

"Oh word travels but I'm not here to talk about that, I'm more worried about why you haven't called me yet." He said looking in my eyes.
