I was on my way out the house when Khalil walked in I could tell he was worried about something because usually when he came in he wasted no time kissing me, but today he walked in and went straight to the living room, sat down, and turned the t.v. on but even then I could tell he wasn't watching it because he didn't seem to realize he was watching some kids show. I walked over to him and put my hand on his shoulder.

"Khalil is everything okay?" I asked him, he didn't answer and I was really starting to get worried. "Khalil?....... KHALIL!" I yelled and he shook his head and looked at me.

"My bad Marcus...... I was distracted. What's up?" He said pulling me to his lap, he still had that far away look in his eye that he got whenever he was deep in thought so I knew he was worried about something.

"Khalil what's going on you're starting to make me nervous." I asked looking at him.

"Nothing it's...... just I have this weird feeling I should be home, I'm worried about Devin this past year he's been through a lot but you wouldn't know it by how he's been acting these last few weeks. He's disappearing without any explanation, his mood has been weird it's like one day he came home and he was a completely different person than when we left." Khalil said seriously.

"Different how?" I asked.

"He's always happy....... which confuses the hell out of me, if I had been through half of what he's been through I'd be pissed at the world. Especially after what happened with his foster parents, I may not have like them but Devin's acting as if it never happened at all. I feel like I should be there for him...... but once again I left him for my own selfish reasons, I'm a horrible brother." Khalil said.

"Khalil do you remember in high school, everyday you'd pick Devin up from school, made sure he did his homework, had something to eat, and went to bed when he was supposed to. Khalil you more like Devin's father than anything, and before you had a chance to build a brotherly relationship he was taken away from you. You spent the next ten years not having to worry about anyone but yourself, and that was all you knew next thing you know you have two brothers you're looking after. Khalil you are not a horrible brother you're just trying to figure out the line between being a surrogate parent and being an older brother." I said, I could tell he was thinking about what I said as a smile came across his face.

"But I shouldn't have to figure out the line between them it should come second nature to me." Khalil said rubbing my thigh.

"Baby, just do what comes naturally to you, don't try to hard or you might end up pushing them both away. Look at me and Marsean he get's on my nerves to no end but I always know he has my back and he's always there when I need him, just be there for them when they need you to and everything will work out fine." I said kissing him on the nose.

"That's one of the reason's I love you Marcus, you always know what to say to make me feel better." Khalil said smiling up at me.

"Stay right here I have a present for you, close your eyes." I said getting up and walking away. I ran up to my room and came back down, surprisingly Khalil still had his eyes close and I forced back my laughter. "Alright open them." I said as I pointed a Nerf gun at him and when he opened his eyes I started shooting him with the blue darts. Khalil covered up and started laughing until I ran out of darts, Khalil looked up at me with an evil smirk on his face.

"You know you done fucked up right?" He asked chasing me into the kitchen, which I admit wasn't my best idea because now I was trapped. Khalil had me cornered there was no where for me to go as Khalil walked closer to me, so I did the only logical thing I dropped the gun and kissed him. Khalil picked me up and instantly my legs wrapped around his waist as he gently bit down on my neck.

"I'm sorry." I moaned as Khalil kept seducing me with his tongue.

"I forgive you...... but we're about to go to Toys'R'us so we can at least have an even playing field." Khalil said kissing me on my collarbone.

"Do you wanna go now?" I asked not really wanting to leave.

"In a second, I have a present for you too." Khalil said dropping his shorts, I knew we wouldn't be done in a second as we fucked all over the kitchen, and living room, before finishing in the bedroom.

The next day I woke up expecting Khalil in bed next to me but he was gone. I looked all over the house but he was no where to be found, I'm not going to lie and say I wasn't pissed because I was he could've told me he was leaving. I went and laid back down and after taking a nap for a few hours, thinking Khalil went back to Houston. I was enjoying sleep too until my phone started ringing, I looked at it and saw it was Khalil.

"Where's you go?" I asked pissed.

"I went to get some food and handle some business but my car broke down, do you think you can come get me?" Khalil asked, I started to say something smart but I got the address and told him I'd be there in a few. I took my time getting ready because I was still pissed he didn't say anything about leaving after showering, making sure I looked perfect and waiting a few extra minutes I went to the place where said his car broke down but I didn't see him or his car.

"Where are you?" I asked calling his phone.

"Where are you I called you over an hour ago Marcus, look I'm not trying to argue with you I'm at the Japanese Tea Garden around the corner from where my car broke down." Khalil said hanging up, I started to smile knowing that he was pissed as I walked to the place where he said he was. I had to admit this place was beautiful, there were so many different flowers that almost made the place look magical. I looked over one of the bridges into the koi pond and watched the fish swim around as if the didn't have a care in the world, I had almost forgot why I was here until I heard the sound of someone playing 'Dangerously In Love' on a piano, I followed the sound until I came to a gazebo decorated with lights and white roses and a woman in the background played on the piano. I stood shocked as Khalil stood there with a smile on his face and a red rose in his hand.

"Khalil....... I......... I'm." I couldn't form a complete sentence, I was beyond shocked. Khalil walked over to me and grabbed my hand.

"You don't need to say anything Mar, this song says everything I've been feeling since the day I first saw you. When I let you walk out of my life in high school it was the biggest mistake of my life. I never want to make that mistake again." Khalil said smiling as the song switched to 'Made To Love You' by Gerald LeVert. Khalil grabbed my hand and dropped to one knee and pulled out a small black box.  "Marcus Riley, will you marry me?" Khalil asked showing me the simple platinum band. My heart was beating a mile a minute, my mouth went dry.

"Khalil........ I....... I can't." I said quietly, as sadness washed over Khalil's face.

"Huh?" Khalil asked confused. I could tell he wasn't expecting me to say no, hell I wasn't expecting to say no. But the more I thought about it the more I realized it was the right answer.

"I love you Khalil, but I'm not ready for all of this........ let's just, let's just wait a while." I said avoiding eye contact. "Don't get me wrong I want to say yes, but right now isn't a good time for either one of us. I'm not saying it's a solid no..... I just want to finish school first." I said helping Khalil to his feet.

"It's cool Marcus I understand." Khalil said putting the ring back in his pocket. "Let's...... umm let's go get something to eat." Khalil said sadly. We walked back to my car but I could feel the shift in the mood, Khalil was hurt and that hurt me that I couldn't take it away.

"Marcus?" Someone said from behind us, I turned and came face to face with Qwanell.
