Chapter 32

Abby's POV  

It's been a couple days since I haven't been home or talked to Louis. I love him and miss him. I know Mason is missing him. He keeps asking where dadda is. I feel bad. He doesn't know what's going on. I know Louis wants to see Mason. He's been calling and texting me for the past couple days but I just haven't answered. I know he wants to finish talking things out. I was going to take Mason over there after he gets off work. Mason needs to see him. I know the first night I was here I slept in Niall's room but after that I started staying in the guest room again. After what Niall said when he thought I was asleep, I hope he just thinks of me as a friend. I don't think of him like that. He's like my brother. I'm in love with Louis and it's going to stay that way. Maybe I'll surprise Louis with bringing Mason over later. I know he wans to see us both. I'm not sure if I'm ready to though. I guess I need to be. I can't keep Mason away from his dad forever and I can't just stay away from him. I know we are going to be together. We just needed some time apart. 

I got up out of the bed and saw that Mason was still asleep. I was kind of glad he was still asleep. I walked into the kitchen and decided to make everyone breakfast. I started cooking and I heard footsteps coming down the hall. I knew it was Niall. The footsteps were too heavy to be Mason's. He walked in and smiled. He said "Hey, are you taking Mason to see Louis today?"

"Yeah, they both need to see each other."

"Are you ready to see Louis?"

"I miss him."

He seemed kind of surprised and sat down at the table. I was surprised. I really do miss him. I love him and I miss being around him everyday. Maybe I might go back home and stay. I don't know yet. It depends on what happens when I take Mason to see him. Maybe things will go fine and I might go back. I finished cooking breakfast and me and Niall both stayed quiet. I could tell something was bothering him. I wanted to know what it was but I'm sure if he wanted to tell me he would. I put the food on three plates and gave Niall his. I walked down the hall to the guest room to see if Mason was awake. He was and I picked him up and carried him down the hall to the kitchen. He sat down and started eating. I started eating and Niall asked "Can I talk to you about something?"

I wonder what he wants to talk about. He looks nervous. I hope it's nothing bad. "Yeah."

"Well I know you were awake when I whispered something the other night when you were in my bed."

"Yeah."

"I guess you know now that I love you but it's getting to be more than a friend."

I don't know what to say. I love Louis. I'm in love with him. I love Niall like a brother. I don't love him like that. He said "I know you probably don't feel that way about me. I just want you to know. I don't want you to go back to Louis. I want you here with me. I can help with Mason. I help you with him more than Louis does."

I honestly don't know what to say about this. I don't feel that way. I know Niall cares about me and Mason and doesn't want me to get hurt or Mason. I have to go back to Louis eventually. I love Louis and Mason more than anything. We need to be back together and be a family again. Me and Louis probably just needed some time apart. I don't want to hurt Niall though. He's cute and innocent and doesn't hurt anyone on purpose. I don't know how to tell him I don't feel that way. He asked "Have you thought about what I said the other night?"

"Yeah. I was hoping you weren't going to bring it up."

He seemed a bit surprised but didn't say anything else. He got up and put his plate in the sink then walked down the hall. I don't know where he went. I hope he's not upset. I don't want him to be. When Mason was done he ran into the living room to play with his toys. I put the plates in the sink and walked down the hall to start getting ready. I walked into the guest room and saw Niall sitting on the bed. He smiled and got up and walked towards me. He said "I wanted to do this, but just not in front of your son."
