I woke up suddenly, it was a bad dream so I quickly woke Virgil up, I was crying and shaking.
"It's alright, I'm here, nothing is going to hurt you, you're safe" Virgil reassured me whilst shushing me, I clung on to him for dear life as I cried.
"I'm sorry I woke you up" I apologised.
"It's fine, baby honestly, it's like eleven in the morning anyway" Virgil chuckled and kissed my forehead.
"Is it?" I wondered.
"Yeah, and I'm thinking of treating my special princess to breakfast in bed," Virgil grinned.
"Oh okay" I sighed.
"Olivia what ever happened was all in your head, it wasn't real" Virgil reminded me and kissed me.
"That's the most reassuring thing you can tell me after I have a nightmare or a bad dream, can I help you fix some things today?" I wondered, with a hopeful look in my eyes.
"You most certainly can kitten, look at you becoming a little engineer" Virgil laughed to himself and kissed my cheek, he left the room after that.
When he returned he had a tray with pancakes, orange juice and a bowl of fruit.
"Thank you" I smiled and took the tray out of his hands.
"I'll be downstairs if you need me, I love you" Virgil returned the smile and kissed my forehead.
"I love you too" I uttered.
He left me to eat my breakfast and after I got dressed I took the tray down, I was surprised by a warm hug that made me feel secure.
"I forgot to say good morning to you, kitten, how careless of me" Virgil whispered into my hair.
I didn't respond because I liked it this way, just being held by the only person who genuinely loves me makes me very happy.
"Honey, can I do a bit of college work first" I requested.
"Sure kiddo, when are you sitting your exam again so I can take you and make sure you're alright, I know how panicky you get about exams" Virgil mumbled and he nuzzled me.
"I think it's next week" I replied in fear, I really wanted to quit the course.
"Oh man, if you need any help you know where I am, just remember to take breaks okay, I don't want you to burn out on me" Virgil reminded me and kissed my cheek.
I snuck off to my room, I had lied about my exam, I did pass it but then I wouldn't have an excuse to isolate my dangerous self, when I heard someone walking up the stairs I quickly got my books out and flicked to a page that I pretended to read, I can't let him know that I don't feel safe around people anymore.
"Erm I need to talk to you for a sec" Virgil told me when he opened my door.
I got out of my seat and let him into my room.
"I saw your grades kitten, why did you lie to me, I thought we could trust each other" Virgil muttered and shook his head, I didn't want to start crying because he'll yell at me.
"I just wanted an excuse to lock myself away" I whispered.
"Sweetheart there's no reason for you to lock yourself away," Virgil mumbled and he knelt down on the floor in front of me "Olivia if there's anything bothering you I can sort it out and make you feel more comfortable."
"I don't belong here, I don't fit in and I feel useless" I admitted.
"I guess you wanna leave huh?" Virgil asked me. He stood up and stuffed his hands into his pockets.
