Painful pasts and terrible truths

Chapter 69

I woke up in a cold sweat, I had another nightmare again, but I didn't have Virgil to comfort me, he had gone home. I sat up, it was only 3:30 in the morning, I picked up my phone, why am I even bothering he'll be asleep, hopefully, but I called him anyway, he picked up.

"Kitten what's wrong" Virgil asked quietly.

"I had another nightmare" I told him "I want to go home."

"Hmm, you know I can get there within a few hours if I take-" I cut him off.

"No, don't fly yourself all the way out here just for my sake" I mumbled "I just wanted to talk to you."

"Ok, well how have you been getting on, are you keeping on top of everything, if not you can ask me for help, you know I have a knack for art" Virgil wondered.

"I passed my first exam, I got 100%" I whispered.

"That's awesome, see you are smart, I don't know why you put yourself down like that, just please don't try and use your hacking abilities to hack the school systems ok" Virgil laughed quietly.

"I won't I promise" I laughed with him.

"Are you feeling alright now" Virgil questioned me.

"No, I still feel like sh*t" I sighed.

"Are you sure you don't want me, you know I'm more than happy to come and visit you" Virgil was still worried.

"I really want to kiss you right now" I told him, I felt down about staying away from him, I can't handle this for 3 months, I just want him now.

"I want to kiss you as well, hang on I've got to go, John wants me, ugh I need to actually sleep at some point, apparently Thunderbird two is very valuable and is needed 98.9% of the time" Virgil groaned.

"What's the other 1.1%" I was concerned.

"When Scott's in charge and screws up" Virgil chuckled, I love his laugh so much it's so cute.

"Ok then, be safe baby, don't get yourself hurt alright, otherwise you'll have me to answer to" I giggled "I love you."

"I won't mother I promise" Virgil replied sarcastically "I love you too, right, bye."

"Bye" I returned the gesture. I heard the phone line go dead.

I went back to bed, that conversation made me feel a lot better, I slowly drifted off to sleep, I had a week of no classes, I had time to explore and enjoy myself, Kristina went to another dorm room to hang out with her friends. I didn't fancy doing anything today, I heard knocking at my door, I opened it and no one was there, that was funny. I shut the door and I turned around and I was surprised by someone pushing me against the door and kissing me, I had my eyes closed of course.

"Surprise gorgeous" oh I hate him so much, I opened my eyes to see my window open and I also saw Virgil standing in front of me with his jumpsuit on.

"Why are you here, people will see" I hissed.

"And I don't care about that, I just wanted to be with my gorgeous kitten" Virgil purred and he kissed me again, I pushed him off.

"Stop it, I don't want your identity being blown, I don't want people flocking to me and screaming, "oh my gosh you're dating someone in International Rescue, how lucky are you" ugh now I'm worried and stressed out" I sighed and I sat down on my bed.

"I came all the way just to see you and you're already pushing me out" Virgil pouted, he went to climb back out the window again, I stopped him.

"Wait, don't go, I'm sorry" I apologised, I wrapped my arms around him, it was really awkward due to his toolbelt and his flashlight, I let go of him and I sat back down again.
