Elijah walked out of the house leaving Kol and Freya behind bickering. For days, years, he would find refuge out in the woods. At times he wished he was in his own nightmarish world craving hellishly to undagger himself and claw his way out of it.
And there by the tree he would sit on the bench and close his eyes.

"And so, here we are locked away by magic"- Elena said to him as they walked out of the Lockwood mansion-"they think I don't know that Tyler is moving me every like two or three months away."

They stop at the little bridge.
"I am so sorry it has come to this!"- Elijah said.
"Yeah, me too"- Elena said sighing a little. They look at one another for a moment.Yes, so many mistakes were done along the way.
"Elijah???"- he hears his sister calling him, but he hangs onto Elena.
Rebekah tried now to call him as well.
"No. He is not here"- Freya said-"I can feel him again connected with another soul, but I can't read who or what it is. He always looks so at peace when he meets whoever he meets."
"But how can he be connected with another soul? Didn't you say that this is just our magical dreamworld?!"
"Well, we are just souls floating in a magical ether- so, someone else is in a strange magical dreamworld-"- Freya said-"I can feel that he is all right. Come on- let's give him time off"
Freya moved away walking back to the house. Rebekah took Elijah by the hands, but he was not moving-
"Ok- whoever it is- well, it's obviously makes you feel good"- Rebekah then stood up and walked away as well.
"Are you ok?"- Elena asked as she noticed that he seemed to be distracted.
"I am"- Elijah turned to her now-"although not exactly".
"No"- Elena said -"you look like you are not yourself- why is this line so familiar?"
Elijah smiled a little at her. But Elena continued-"oh, I remember you telling me something like that- well, not exactly that. And I had my emotions switched off."
"Yes, practice what you preach!"- Elijah then said and they both know he was referring to his own comment to her.
"I have not found the way to myself...actually, I kind of completely lost myself."
"Being hard on yourself... after everything you have been through at your age- you should cut yourself some slack, whereas me- I have a thousand lifetimes behind me- and it all got worse"
