Several days earlier

In New Orleans

Elijah walked up to Sophie as she placed flowers on her sister's grave. She stood up facing the vampire with an angry look.

"What are you doing here? Please leave!"

"I have come to bid truce"- Elijah said calmly.

"I am not negotiationg with you- nor making any deals. I've already told you that!"

"I had to do what I did."- Elijah replied.

"I know the doppelgangers mean a great deal to you, I know, I've been told."- Sophie said and flashed back to her conversation with Caroline -

'Elena never really told me what happened between them, but when Esther had them bound as one to be killed, Elena didn't want Elijah to die'

Elijah now looked at the witch and narrowed his eyes at her and said-

"Elena will always be important to me. I have betrayed her, unfortunately not once. Something I will regret forever."

"Yes, your word as a gentlman vampire doesn't mean much, does it?!"- Sophie spat at him.

Elijah could see that the witch knew all about what had happened in Mystic Falls. 

"Your anger and pain is still raw."- Elijah now looked at the tombstone and then at Sophie- "this was a mistake."

"I will avenge my sister!"- Sophie said and Elijah could see the shift in her eyes. There was something else in them, a certain affection, the witch tried to hide so cleverly. 

"We have eternity to play this out!"- Elijah said.

Sophie had all the power of her ancestry in her which made her now immortal.

"Yes, we do. This is one witch your family will not be able to manipulate. I will protect the doppelganger to all cost."

Elijah swished away.

"Bloody Sophie Deveraux"- Klaus raged-" she will always stand in my way! I will find Elena Gilbert if it is the last thing I do!!"

Sophie walked into her apartment, slamming the door behind her. Her mind was buzzing, and went to her books and the ancestral Grimoires. She frantically looked for a spell. 

"I will end you. I will!!"- she murmurred while she screened through the spells. Her phone buzzed and she looked at the display. It was Bonnie.

"I have found the spell. I managed to channel Qetsiyah. I am sending you the spell now."- it said in the message. 

"The hybrid must be stopped"- she said to herself. There was no time to wait, she knew that and she read the spell carefully. Then she went to the mansion. She didn't want to wait. She found the brothers arguing and before they knew she chanted the spell enveloping them into a veil.
