I lost myself again (6) I can't stop thinking about us anymore

Elijah walks into the Four Seasons and goes to the reception desk asking for his key card.

"Here you are"- the receptionist hands it to him continuing-"I am sorry, sir, there has been a confusion with the booking. May ask how long you will be staying?"

"Indefinitely"- Elijah says as he took the key card.

"Very good. Thank you. Would you please sign here"- the receptionist continues.

Elijah signs and takes off to the penthouse suite. His heart reliving every moment of this encounter with Elena. 

"You knew, but you left"- Elena's words rumble in his head. But there was a glimpse of hope. Her heart didn't shut him out. Not completely. It was fighting through the hurt and disappointment. And he can't fault her. And he doesn't. No matter how long it takes, he will wait. Even if it takes forever. Elijah undoes his tie and makes himself a drink.

Flashback

A year back

"Tell me all"- Elijah says to his vampire confidante over the phone.

"Bonnie Bennett turned. It happened with Damon Salvatore's blood in her. Elena Gilbert is awake, but they are hiding her whereabouts."

"Right"- Elijah slips.

"There is one more thing. She is not a vampire anymore, but apparently she is not entirely human and for that reason they are keeping her away from the Evil they unleashed from  the Armory."- the vampire adds.

"Thank you. Keep tailing them."- Elijah says and hangs up.

  He finishes his drink and looks out into the sunset.

Elsewhere, Elena now hurries to her and Jeremy's apartment not far from the restaurant she works in. She storms in as if she was chased by a hoard of vampires, tosses her bag and now dials different numbers that come up on the search engine. 

"Can I speak to Elijah Mikaelson, please?"- she asks. The woman replies negatively.

Elena  hangs up and dials another number. Same question. Positive answer. They will connect her.  Elena hangs up.  He didn't leave. Her heart fills up with gladness.  She now rushes to the bathroom to shower and change. 

Flashback

rewind to moment of her realization of all that had happened in the restaurant - and like a lightning she became aware of Elijah's eyes saying to her the moment he nodded at her, the split second before he turned and left-

"This is forever."

She looks at herself in the mirror just as she is about to get out ruffling her hair a bit. Jeremy walks in surprised to see her-

"I thought you are working today?"

"I got out early. Ok. I got to go. Don't wait up"- Elena says on the exit.

"Have fun."- Jeremy shouts. 

Fun.Oh, this was so much more. With this her life, their lives are going to change forever. Is this a decision she was taking lightly. No. This was something she felt was coming. How? She knew. She had always known. Deep inside of her. With the letter, it was confirmed. The always and forever was not written without meaning. Nothing with Elijah was without meaning. 

She was now at the hotel, walking into the lobby and straight to the reception desk. She is asking for Elijah's room, looking at the woman straight in the eyes. She hated using her supernatural powers she still possessed, but this time it was an exception. The woman tells her that it is a penthouse suite. The ride on the elevator takes forever. Elena's heart can't stop from going into overdrive as she finally steps out of it. Her steps are light. But the Original can hear them coming turning his head to the sound that was nearing 

and he flies literally to the door opening it. She stands there barely able to breath from all the excitement that took over her entirely. 

  I guess this is what it's supposed to sound like

And put life off for another day,

Do they need to say anything? All words are unnecessary. At least not in this moment. And yet, Elena utters gulping a little-

"Don't wanna be without you anymore"

Elijah now slides his hands through her hair gently onto her head taking a moment looking up into her eyes and down to her lips 

both tremble with the sweet anticipation of the kiss that follows tying them together forever.
