.Elijah walked into the big library in the Old Manor house. Elena was reading and now looked up.

"You're back..."- she said smiling at him.

"I am..."

"How was the trip?"- she had hoped for a good answer.

"Nothing I am afraid. I hear there have been developments here..."- he sat down next to her at the table filled with many books.

"Yes... now we know that the witches represent four elements...and me the fifth!"- Elena said to Elijah.

"The sun!"- he said as he had been informed by Alicia.

She nodded.

"Ah... look at me... last year I was just a girl thinking about what major to take...now I am reading prophecies in Old Norse, Proto-slavic...and... I am supposed to save the world..."- Elena pushed the book away. 

He took her hands in his now. They were facing one another. He knew that the burden she was carrying was not an easy one. She needed encouragment he felt.

"You are courage, empathy and love and it will guide you..."

Her warm chocolate eyes looked at him with gratitude as he always knew how to calm her down when she doubted her abilities.

"Part of my humanity longs for the old times when things were so simple... for my friends..."

"The witches had explained that the transition made you focus on yourself to be able to carry this through..."- he reminded her.

"Huh.... yes... still... it doesn't make it any easier..."- she looked at his hands holding hers and then at him. He was again so very forward and they agreed to be friends.

"Never is..."- he said and looked her deep into the eyes. She could feel her insides burn and she couldn't stop her heart accelerating now.

"We..."- she started but he placed a finger on her lips now not to speak any further. Then leaned forward and kissed her.
