After finishing her conversation with Freya, Elena hopped in her SUV with no further thought.

"I missed you"- Elijah says looking at Elena with love.
"Oh, I missed you, too."- and before she could say anything more he kisses her. Emotions flying out like a flock of million doves let free.
As he places a final little peck on her lips he whispers I love you raising his eyes meeting hers and she whispers back the same.
Elena sighed as her soul burnt because of the awful conundrum that had happened a day before. She pressed the radio button - her thoughts floating with it to a place so known to both of them-
Some time ago
Elijah found Elena sitting on the veranda of Bonnie's house gazing into the full moon. He sat down next to her and Elena nestled straight onto his shoulder. He embraced her.
"Oh, I am really glad you're here"- Elena said-"I hate fighting with Caroline. And I hate that she is so against you. They still go on and on about how you betrayed me back then. How can they not see
"We didn't have the best of starts"- Elijah said caressing her -"Your beautiful soul brought me back from my darkest self. You showed me that I can start again. "
"So much has changed since."- Elena said-"I have made so many mistakes, I am not that brilliant"
"To err is human, to forgive is divine. And that divinity you possess always comes through"- Elijah said -and as Elena moved from his embrace she moved towards him and kissed him.

The song drummed in Elena's head all the way as she drove to the little town on Virginia's coast.
An hour or so later, Freya met up Elena and the doppelganger supplied her with her blood, which immediately showed them the location of the two Originals, even though it was not necessary at all as Dahlia and Klaus found the the moment Freya started the spell, but the barrier the young witch put was powerful enough so the dark witch could not pass through it.
"I was right. The doppelganger is human again"-Dahlia said as she looked at Elena smirking her efforts proved fruitful and continued-"I will give you both your brothers back for the doppelganger"
"You think that you can blackmail me. There is nothing you can do to them- I have the doppelganger and she is on our side"- Freya said.
"Oh, my little girl. I may not do anything to them, which, by the way it has never been my attention- just using them as tools to get her. How about I start with letting this scourge loose and the other one as well- they would be worse than plague."
"NOOO"- Elena shouted-"You have a deal"- Elena said to Dahlia then turning to Freya who opposed to it.
"I can't have them kill innocent people"- Elena said-"this comes down to me."
Freya clenched her teeth saying to the old witch that things didn't end there.
"I will see you at the summit!"- Freya said to Dahlia as a promise set in stone.
The two vampires and Elena were exchanged on the magical barrier- and with one snap of finger Dahlia released both Klaus and Elijah from the spell- and they both gasped for breath as all their emotions charged back in.
Minutes later as Freya explained what had happened, Elijah nearly charged at his sister growling-"How could you let it happen???!!"
"It was Elena's choice. But it is buying us time, because Dahlia will need the immortal instrument to do the ritual and I we got it"
"This is a high price!"- Elikah muttered with mixture of anger and hurt. Freya then passed a little paper to Elijah- "This from Elena for you"- Elijah took it and unfolded it-
"Dear Elijah, there are no words that can expressed how sorry I am for my stupid stupid mistake. The jealousy consumed me and I read something into nothing.I know I love you more than life itself. I want to make it right again. Can you forgive me? Love, always and forever. Elena"
As he read it he rushed away into the vast fields of the night helplessly searching for the witch and his love. Wherever he looked there was nothing but darkness.
Klaus found him knealing down in the mud desperately gazing into the night.
"Elijah-"- he put his hand on his brothers face making him lòok at him-" We will get her back!"
"You don't know that"- Elijah said-"you don't- if I never see her again- no-nothing matters"
"Elijah- what are you talking abou?"-Klaus saw that his brother was in a strange state of delirium.
"I have unconsciously done something I - huh- We have to find her! Whatever it takes'- Elijah stood up now.
"Agreed"- Klaus said-"come on then" And as they swished away from that wretched place, Elijah thought of all the moments he had gone to assist the female werewolf when it was not necessary at all giving Elena motive to suspect there was more.
"Never take one's love for granted"- he remembered a poet saying to him once upon a time.
