The sun set. Elena watched the bonfire being lit up. The festivities of Halloween started, and it was not a night of merely trick and treating, but also respecting the old traditon of Samhain, marking the harvest and beginning of the darker half of the year.
"Did you know that the bonfires lit on this night had special protective and cleansing powers?!"- Elijah said as he found himself standing beside her. She now looked at him surprised to see him.
"Elijah...?!"- she stated and then said-"Aren't you supposed to be in New Orleans?!"-
"Now...I am here."- he said.
"How did you know I would be here?"
"I just did."- he replied.
She knew that it was a silly question, as he would always appear when she least expected him to.
The people around them were dancing and enjoying the festivity.
Elena watched the fire flicker and tried to contain her beating heart that jumped up. The last time she had seen him so much seemed to be entangled. She had left New Orleans letting him understand what his heart really wanted.
Then those around them took both of them into the big joint circle. Elena saw that in one moment he threw away his suit jacket and tossed it away, now taking her hands breaking away from the joyful crowd.
"Why are you here?"- she then asked gulping. He held her by the waist. Looking into her eyes unfolding before her saying-
"When I met you - everything changed... and I started beliving in something again"- he said- "I am not perfect and I made mistakes, and as long as it takes I will prove my love to you... You are the other half of me!!..."
She watched him for a moment her with smiling eyes and then embraced him happily.
"My heart is yours forever!... but you know that, right...?!"- she whispered in his ear.
She faced him now.
"Yes, Elena!"- he said enchantingly.
They could hear the song playing- and he pulled her gently towards him into a kiss.
