London, January 1890

"This is my story,  Mr Stoker, of my bleeding heart"- Elijah said looking outside the window into the night like transfixed seeing the face of Tatia shimmer in front of him-"she is forever sealed in my heart and if I could just once look in her warm dark eyes and feel her lips on mine - " Elijah stopped there turning to the writer and now fixing his eyes onto his saying-"you will remember the story but it would appear as if it was told to you in a dream. You will never be sure if it was a real vampire or a man,  traveller, who told you stories from Transylvania. You may use Vlad the Impaler for your main character. His heart bled for his wife equally. But he was lucky enough to be reunited with her in his death, whereas I will never be this fortunate. I bid you good night."

Elijah swished away leaving the writer strangely perplexed looking around as if he woke up from a deep nap.

Elijah put the flowers down at a statue of a woman he had done many centuries ago with the epitaph

To my beloved wife, her grieving husband
Always & Forever

Elijah stood quiet with pictures of the most divine and the most painful moments forever embedded in him pass through his heart.

  Come into these arms again
And lay your body down
The rhythm of this trembling heart
Is beating like a drum

It beats for you - It bleeds for you
It knows not how it sounds
For it is the drum of drums
It is the song of songs...

Once I had the rarest rose
That ever deigned to bloom.
Cruel winter chilled the bud
And stole my flower too soon.

Oh loneliness - oh hopelessness
To search the ends of time
For there is in all the world
No greater love than mine.

Love, oh love, oh love...
Still falls the rain... (still falls the rain)
Love, oh love, oh, love...
Still falls the night...
Love, oh love, oh love...
Be mine forever.... (be mine forever)
Love, oh love, oh love....

And then a breeze out of nowhere touched his face like once his loved one touched him hearing a whisper of his name pass making his tortured heart kick a beat looking aside as a woman approached him saying -"Hello"

"Hello"- he uttered looking at the woman as if she was a ghost appeared out of the mists.

"I'm sorry, I didn't want to disturb you. I come here sometimes after I put flowers on my parents' grave and I  leave flowers for her, too."

"You do?"- Elijah slipped still looking at the woman as if compelled.

"Yeah. I wish I knew her name and the story - it must have been so sad. He lost her and I guess he loved her so much - it's the  Always and Forever that is so heartbreaking and so beautuful. Can I?"- the woman asked if she could place the flowers down.

"Please"- Elijah said.

The woman knelt down put a bunch of primroses on the bottom of the statue. Getting up, she glanced at Elijah nodding a little as goodbye.

"What is your name?"- Elijah then asked as if finally breaking out of the hypnotic state.

"Elena."- the woman said-"Elena Gilbert."

a/n:
Always loved Bram Stoker's Dracula novel and movie from 1992. Little hommage twist here. Elijah has this romantic sad Dracula parallel story as well with Tatia- Elena, in my opinion. :D
