Elena and Stefan waited nervously in the Boarding House Lounge as Bonnie and Elijah now went to performed the spell to get their friends out of the deadly desiccated condition. Elijah poured his blood into the cup.
"Ok. One part of fresh Original Vampire blood. Rosemary, thyme and one part of fresh Bennett witch blood. Here we go."- Bonnie now said as she then started the spell from her ancestor's Grimoire. As she finished the spell she went straight to Damon and Caroline and fed them the drink. As the blood got in their system they both started regaining consciousness and the witch was now exclaimed happily-
"It's working- OMG- it's working. Thank you"- she couldn't help herself and hugged her loved one. Damon looked around coughing slightly as he now got fully back into his normal state. Caroline as well, moaning how no one was hugging her. Bonnie now hugged her friend and hearing the commotion, Stefan and Elena now ran down to the cellars. Elijah looked at them elated to have gotten their friends and loved ones back.
He swished out of the cellars and went up to the lounge now. For a second he wavered what to do- to leave or stay. And then, he saw her appearing from the hall way, entering the lounge-
"Thank you. Really- thank so much."
"You're welcome."- Elijah said with a little nod and taking a silent breath giving her one more look turned around and walked out of the place.
Elena stood with tears in her eyes. No matter how much her heart roamed in all of the memories, it did not let her step beyond the line she had drawn, so she could go on. But could she go on? Not really. She now ran out the house looking into the night. He was not there. Why would he still be there? There was nothing for him there. She made it so very clear.
Caroline now stood next to Elena asking about Elijah.
"He is gone."- Elena said.
"How could he be gone? I wanted to see him in flesh. After hours and hours- years of listening about him- and now he saving our lives, at least I should get to meet him."- Caroline ranted on.
"It's ok. That is how it should be."- Elena said resigned-"you are ok and - I thanked him for you."- Elena exhaled heavyhearted.
"Oh, no. Here it goes."-Caroline now said-"this is not over. You and him will never be over. I can see it in your eyes. You have to tell me everything. How was it when you saw him again- and him being a vampire- that must have been like so huge- does he now that you are - this strange natural occurrence?"
"No, he doesn't"- Elena said-"we didn't really speak."
"You didn't speak? Why? I hope you have at least kicked his ass."
They walked back in the house. Elena shut down not wanting to go on about Elijah.
"You have been desiccated for like months and you go on like there are no other things important but my non-existing love life."- Elena said.
"But this is huge- the guy who is the love of your life turns out to be an Original vampire, who saves our lives and you think that there are more important things to discuss than that?"- Caroline went on.
"There is nothing changed there"- Bonnie said to Damon, who now held his girlfriend close in his arms.
"Not to Caroline."- Damon said-"she loves a good agony aunt thing. But, yeah, what had happened to the witch that put the venom into us?"
"Escaped."- Stefan said.
"So, we are back to square one."- Damon said.
"Pretty much."- Stefan replied.
"So, what else is there about the heartbreaker Elijah, the Original vampire?"- Damon wanted to know-"how did you find out that he is not really a lawyer?"
"Believe it or not, Elena's great uncle knew Elijah."- Stefan said and now told his brother how they found the diary of Elena's ancestor.
Bonnie and Caroline were now occupied with Elena, who was not in a good place. Seeing Elijah had left a bigger mark than she wanted to admit.
"I want to go home, guys. Please, don't be mad- it's been a crazy few days."- Elena said.
"Crazy few month more like it."- Bonnie said- "hey, it's ok. You go. You've done so much. And- thanks for - doing everything- sorry about- you know-"
"I would do anything for you guys. I owe you that much- after all you have forever listened about him-"- Elena said.
The women went into a group hug and Elena bid everyone good night.
"Ok- see you tomorrow."- she said and left.

Elijah was now driving back to New Orleans, and dialed his sister's number.
"Hello-"- Freya answered.
"I am on my way home."- Elijah said.
"You are? How did things go?"- the witch asked.
"The spell worked. Her friends are fine."- Elijah said.
"But you are not."- Freya then said.
"No."- Elijah said and added-"but it was expected. I have hurt her profoundly. She has done nothing but love me. And I have cut her so cruelly. I should have explained, I should have told her who I really was."
"Yes- you should have. But- what is done is done."- Freya said.
"It is true. Anyway. I am driving down. I will see you soon."- Elijah said and as they exchanged byes, he hang up, his heart and mind still lingering with the thoughts of Elena.

In Mystic Falls, Elena got to her room, after she had something to eat. There, on the bed she noticed an envelope addressed in her name. She picked it up and opened the envelope getting a letter out. Unfolding it, she sat down on the bay window bench.
