Heal - part 2

"Where is Elijah?" Klaus asks Rebekah.

"I saw him leave with Elena" Rebekah said.

"Oh, well,our dear brother and the doppelganger" Klaus smirked.

"Well, whatever it is, she saved him, just leave it, Nik!"

"I am not going to do anything. There is one thing I will tell him, though"

"Oh, God, what?" Rebekah says worryingly.

"About Tatia- she had only chosen him because Knut had said no to her"

"Knut?! That bitch. Knut was mine" Rebekah looked at him astonished- "But,why didn't you tell him?"

"I was angry-like you don't know" Klaus retorts.

"She was no different from Katherine. I knew it!" Rebekah remarks pleased with herself.

"But you don't like Elena much- so" Klaus looks at his sister wondering how she would react.

Rebekah sighs now.

"When it comes to women, he has always been the romantic type. He looks for the best in them, always looking for something elusive"

On the beach

"Aren't you going to ruin your suit?!" Elena jokes a bit as they sit down on the sand.

"Who cares. I have not done this since I was a boy, it's liberating" Elijah says.

Elena smiles. "Bonnie must have done something in the magical retreaval of the humanity in you"

Flashback

Elijah raged trying to get out of the schackles. He vamped out growling beastly at Elena, and then changed again into the human aspect looking at her like nothing mattered in this world.
"Why would she do it?"Bonnie was puzzled finding out Esther had tortured him.

"To see the error of his ways and make him give up and move into another body, so can you do something?" Rebekah explained.

"Yes. It will be painful, it will be a type of counterhypnosis of the magical kind" Bonnie said.

They had to leave him with Bonnie alone.
Elena and Rebekah stayed outside the cell. For more than an hour they listened to horrific screams. In order for the spell to break he had to cleanse his soul completely digging into the whole monsterous past making him   face it all.

Present time

"How do you feel?" Elena asks sincerely.

"You ask about the monsterous part. Facing it all- strangely, facing it all made me make some kind of peace with it all. it will hurt, always. But just keeping it in a hidden draw is not the answer."

"Yeah, it's not easy seeing two identical people. Three. When I saw Katherine, it was like seeing a probable twin."

"You were not the same person, also, Tatia- you know what is strange in it all? I didn't really know her. We never really talked in depth. I just fell for her. I saw her and she was mesmerizingly beautiful." Elijah looks at Elena and stops for a moment. Elena doesn't utter a word and tries to act as if it doesn't affect her. Elijah continues-

"Retrieving all my past, my numerous mistakes and misgivings, and there were plenty. I realized that you saw me as I am not a stranger. I find it so easy to talk to you?!"

Elena sighs.

"You don't know how bad I felt for lying to you back then" she blurts it out pouring all her emotions out.

"Let's not, Elena" the Original then says and gets up.

She looks worried at his sudden change in posture.

"Maybe it is better if we return"

Elena takes hold of his hand again and exclaims pleadingly, "Elijah?!"

He looks at her searching in her eyes for that something that her heartbeat is saying.

"I had played this in my mind a thousand times- huh- only yesterday you were away- and now we better get back"

Elijah takes off.

Elena stays struck by the moment realizing for the first time in a long while what he meant to her. She will be damned if she let's it go this time. She rushes after him. There is only one place he would go to.

Elijah walks into the Mansion.

"Ah,you're back" Rebekah emerges out from a room looking down from the gallery. "Elena gone?"

He looks up at her.

Elena comes  in and having heard Rebekah. "No. I am still here. And I am not going anywhere"

Elijah looks at her astonished by her statement. Klaus comes from the side corridor to the couryard.

"Elena?" Elijah says in a quizzical tone.

Klaus smirks a little and looks at Rebekah.

Elena now stands in front of Elijah, not taking notice of either of his syblings.

"I wanted to do this more private, but, I don't care. Everyone can hear us," she says," I care. More than just care. I have always done. But I was afraidto admit it -and in Willoughby"

Before she could say anything more Elijah pulls her in a kiss in the same passionate manner as that afternoon in Willoughby.
