Before I begin, I'm proud to announce that I beat my slither.io high score of 10,390. I topped that with 10,798 (though I didn't get any higher than 9th place)!
This was probably the last year my school could afford the annual 8th grade trip to Six Flags, which is sad to think about, but I had fun (fun as in not too much action because I don't particularly favor rollercoasters). Not everything happened in the exact order and with the exact detail that I typed this in.
The first ride I went on was the carousel, with KC and Lily. Throughout the day, the groups varied. Sometimes we'd go off in smaller groups; other times we'd all go together places. The guys sprinted straight to the Giant Drop, and Sierra went off with others, so I dragged the two ladies to the childish and tame ride. I excitedly rushed to the upper level of the carousel, since I had never been up there, only to be disappointed to find that the animals on the upper level were of less variety than those on the lower level. Earlier, I spotted a majestic, sea green mer-horse on the lower level. On the upper level, there were only standard horses and benches. Nevertheless, I saddled a horse.
After that, I pulled the small group to the next tame ride. I forgot what it was called, but it looked like the Giant Drop; except that it was just an elevator that spun around to give you a pleasant view of the park. The guys met us in line, and gave us a detailed oral (haha Lily) about their adventures. On the ride, I found a nearby rollercoaster that met all of my constraints:
• no loops
• no upside-down partsUnfortunately, once I got off of the ride and went over to check it out, the line was menacingly long, so us three ladies wandered a bit before checking in for lunch. We were one of the first to sit and eat, but, if only I had eaten quick enough. Pizza and fries almost cleared off of my plate, the guys had returned, and, after eyeing my plate, their hands dove for my fries. Rest in Fries.
After digging my scavenged lunch a grave in the trash, I went with Johnny (who lost his glasses earlier at Raging Bull) to scout out what I believed was bumper cars, only to get distracted by a nearby gift shop.
I entered, searching for a souvenir for my brother, but instead awed at the corner of the shop that was completely filled with fairies and dragons. Statutes of a wide range of fairies stood for display on a table; from elemental fairies to steampunk fairies to elemental fairies riding elemental dragons. There were also pillows and T-shirts. Now that I mention it, I probably should've bought myself one of those pillows. Instead, I left with a Batman cape for my brother.
Upon returning, I was upset to hear that we were all going to ride the Giant Drop and the Raging Bull together.
In all honesty, I enjoy rides like the Giant Drop, but 200 feet deterred me, and, luckily, I was able to pass that ride. So, I got in line with Lily, Michael, and Sam to another ride right next to that one: River Rocker. This one quickly became one of my favorite amusement rides at the park, because it was a swinging ride. Once everyone else got off of the Giant Drop, we pulled them in line to ride on the River Rocker with us. Last time, I sat close to the middle, which made the ride feel not too bad. This time, I sat in the second to last row, which made the ride more enjoyable and terrifying. After that, KC took everyone to Buccaneer Battle.
Buccaneer Battle is a small, pirate-themed water ride, where you board boats that cruise on a submerged track that runs through the scenic part of the ride. The boats are also armed with water cannons that can be used to soak people on the boats ahead and behind you, and also those standing near the fence that separates the ride from the paved path, who are also armed with water cannons.
Exiting the ride soaking wet, we split off into our own small groups again. Sam and I went to another gift shop, where I found Minecraft merchandise that my brother would've much preferred over the Batman cape, so I got that. Then, we dragged Michael and Lily back to the River Rocker (only Sam and I got in line), where we again failed to get back row seats. That time I actually screamed my excitement, and later that day my throat became sore.
Later, the four of us wandered around before finding a bench to sit on. It was only 2:30, and we already had no idea what to do. KC texted Lily that she broke her leg (we later found out that it was a filthy prank). Johnny sent me a distress text as well, but it was only because he, Isaac, and David got stuck in line for Superman. So, we met up and played some carnival games! We played this one game with clowns driving cars and skee-ball. The hole that the ball fell in determined the speed of the car. I won a large (but not crazy huge) stuffed panda, then had the genius idea to tie the Batman cape around its neck, and that's how Bat Panda was born.
We all walked back to the carousel, then went to the arcade, where I beat Johnny in an air-hockey match.
And yeah that was pretty much the day. The next chapter about graduation won't be as lengthy (maybe).
