OK SO HERE'S THE RANT ABOUT THE BOOK Remember Yesterday by Pintip Dunn

I was busy trying to finish reading the sequel to one of my favorite books (yes this is actual ink and paper we're talking about now), Forget Tomorrow by Pintip Dunn.

This sequel. Is so damn annoying. It pulls all of my trigger strings. I don't like it. (Things that triggered me will be parenthesized like this (blah))

Ok beware if you actually wanna read this series then skip this chapter because I'll be spilling spoilers. They won't be huge like OMG BLUE DIAMOND IS BLUE¿¿??? but yah they're important. As always, I'll be as discreet as possible.

If you don't care then welcome.

The story starts with the protagonist (I'll refer to her as heroine later) and everyone else in her community thinking that her sister died at the end of the previous book; to be more specific, her sister sacrificed herself so that she, the heroine, could live, and also to prevent future technology that has the potential of ending the world to be invented.

Then later on in the story, the heroine finds out that (her sister never died, nor is she alive, either.) She's been in a coma for ten years while everyone thought she was in heaven. The sister has been kept by two scientists (more info on them later) who work for the government, and these scientists tell the heroine that her sister won't last long and they'll need her help to keep her alive. So the heroine keeps her sister's vitals stable by using her magic (lol look how discreet I am), but, as every magic spell comes, there's a catch: there's a certain time frame for the heroine to use her magic powers on her sister. Failure to use her powers on her sister within the time frame will result in her sister's vitals dropping drastically until her sister actually dies.

What's supposed to happen next? Of course! The heroine fails to make it in time, and (her sister dies.)

OH BUT SURPRISE SURPRISE (HER SISTER AIN'T DEAD AFTER ALL.) The scientist who was in charge of taking care of the sister also sort of had the same magic. So the sister is still alive-ish yay.

Ok so those overused plot twists were my first trigger. Get ready for the second trigger.

The heroine hates all scientists with a burning passion because they used her as a lab rat in their terrible experiments. Of course, it wasn't long before her sister came in and sacrificed herself so she could escape.

The heroine's arch nemesis is, of course, one of the biggest scientists at the time, who's also a teenager like her so technically he's the next big scientist.

Oh but lOOK AT THIS NOW THE (HEROINE FALLS FOR HER ARCH NEMESIS OFC.)

Turns out that her arch nemesis was even a bigger dick than she previously thought back when she hated him so after she realizes that she's back to hating him now yay!

Basically what this arch nemesis did was that he played with her emotions because ofc she just had to fall in love with him right I mean doesn't matter if he's your arch nemesis if he's hot then you're lost forever ugh.

And then he tells her that the reason he's been playing with her emotions is because he loved her too but he never really felt it before so he was afraid and stuff and that's why he was so bullshitty towards her and ugh. *cue makeup make out session*

This arch nemesis-turned-lover of hers was one of the scientists working on her sister (not the one in charge nor the one that saved her in the plot twist I mentioned earlier). He was also the reason that the heroine failed to make it in time to use her powers on her sister, which is when she realized how big a dick this guy is. Of course, him being the arrogant scientist that she first knew him as, he used his sister in order to get credit for inventing that dangerous technology that was supposed to be not invented in the first place. And tHEN HE GOES AND TRIES TO BEG HER FOR FORGIVENESS FOR HIS DICKINESS AND ok it's too early in the morning to be this triggered i'm done

But yeah I can't read that book anymore.
