Now I know what I said earlier
But
This was just too funny to pass up
So, to avoid distractions while doing my homework, I throw my phone onto my brother's bed (yes, I still have to share a room; my house is smol).
I did that, then later I decided to hide it under my notebook, which is how I completely forgot about it... -_-
In the midst of helping my brother with his homework, a thought comes to mind:
Where's my phone?

he thought is discarded, as my mind is focused on helping my brother understand the distributive property (which I didn't learn until 6th grade [I think] and he's learning it at 3rd).
Later, the thought resurfaces with urgency. So, knowing my usual technique, I hastily tear my brother's bed apart, with no luck of finding it.
I begin to panic, knowing no other way to find it. See, for both school and privacy purposes (don't question it >_>), I always keep my phone on silent. Therefore, I can't use another phone to call my phone and listen for the ringtone to find it (which sucks since I have the best ringtone ever xD).
Then, my genius brother proposed that we check my bed. It was practically empty, save for the notebook and pencil, but there was a blanket on top of the comforter. So, he jumped on my bed and started feeling around for it, and I lifted my notebook.

BONUS STORY
Another Reason Why My Brother is a Genius
During the summer, we went to this train museum, and I got this little glass bottle with water and 24K gold shavings in it. I have it now on my desk.
My brother was working on his homework at my desk, so he picks it up and says, "Look, Alice. It's 24K magic."
By then I'd completely forgotten that it was 24K gold, so I belted out Bruno Mars' new song.
My brother didn't enjoy it.
