The Truth Comes Out

Steve's POV.

We walked down a hallway of the secret warehouse, knowing that the other winter soldiers were here. As we got to the end we heard someone prying the door across the hall open. Bucky stood behind me with his rifle pointed towards the door, while I stood with my shield in front of of us. "Ready?" "Yeah." Bucky answered.

The doors opened to reveal... "Tony?" I asked. "Well Cap you seem a little defensive." "It's been a long day." I answered 'Can I trust him? Why is he here?' I thought. "Well, I'm here as a friend. I should of believed you. You were right. The police found that, that psychiatrist did impersonate your friend. And he did cause all this."

"So the government is okay with you being here?" I asked. "Well... that's just it I'm officially not here. And I'd rather not tell them I helped out because I'd be in a lot of trouble. I won't tell them I found you either." He told me. "Yeah. I'm sure that would be a lot paper work." "Yeah, okay so let's go find this maniac."

Bucky and I both got up and followed Tony down the hall to a door way. Tony had his hand up ready to fire a pulse reactor. We came into a dark room with 5 giant tubes. "This is it." Bucky said. "This is where they froze their bodies." "Lets take a closer look." Tony said.

We walked over to the giant tubes. They were empty. "Oh no. They've been freed. We're too late." Bucky said. "Where would they be if they've been freed?" Tony asked. "Here. Anywhere. But wherever they are they can cause a lot of trouble." I said to Tony. "Really like how much trouble?" "At worst, World domination. At best, Terrorism." Bucky said. "Oh. I was worried about that." Tony said.

We started towards the door way, when we heard a voice over the speakers. "Welcome! We have been expecting you." We looked around and saw a huge wall with one window. Inside was the psychiatrist. I threw my shield and it came back. "Who are you?" I yelled. "My name is Zemo." "Why are you doing this?" Tony asked.

"I lost everything because of the Avengers." "You lived in Sovcovia." I said. "Yes. I lost everyone." I walked up to the window. "I'm sorry. We try to save as many lives as possible, but we aren't God. We can't save everyone. I'm sorry about your family." "I'm sure you are. You know seeing you here is amazing. But what's even more amazing is that now that I see you in person I've realized...there's a little green in the blue of your eyes. How wonderful to finally find a flaw." He said with pride.

"What do you want." I asked. "A kingdom to fall."he said. "So it's worse." Tony said. "Yup." I heard Bucky answer. "Your not going to get away with this. Where are they?" I asked. "Free." He said. "Free to do what they want." He said.

Just then I heard a video come on behind me. I walked over to a screen and saw security footage. Right then I knew what Zemo was doing. Tiny walked over. "I know that road." He said. 'Oh no. Why now?' I thought. "What is this?!" He yelled.

Then he watched. A car came down the road then a motorcycle. The man on the bike knocked the car off the road making it hit a tree. He got off and walks to the trunk and took something out. Then he walk to the driver side and pulled the man out of the car. The man looked up at him. "Sargent Barns?!" Then Bucky killed him. He went over to other side of the car and killed the woman in the car. It was Howard and his wife. Tony's parents.

After the video ended Tony looked up and started after Bucky. I stopped him "Tony!" I yelled. He stopped and turned toward me. "Did you know." He asked angrily. "I didn't know it was him." I told him. "Did you know!?" He yelled in anger and grabbed my collar. I sighed. 'Why didn't I tell him.' I thought. "Yes." I answered sadly. He let go quickly in discussed. And turned away.

Just then his arm came back and hit me. Knocking me into the wall. Then he went after Bucky. I got up and yelled his arms. "Tony he didn't know! It wasn't him!" "I don't care. He killed my mom." He said in anger. Then he went after Bucky. "Run!" I yelled at him.

I started to fight Tony. After fighting for what seemed like forever Tony shot Bucky making him fall. When I got down Me and Bucky both started fighting Tony.

At the end of the fight Tony had shot Bucky's metal arm off and he was lying on the ground. I quickly ran over and protected Bucky with my shield from Tony's pulse reactor.

Eventually Tony knocked me down and my shield landed on the other side of the room. "You can't fight anymore Cap." He said. "I could do this all day." I said, knowing my strength was almost gone. "I can't let you Tony. He's my friend." "So was I." Tony said. He was hurt. I understood why and I couldn't say I wouldn't do the same as he is. But Bucky wasn't himself and he was my brother.

Tony was about to finish me, but just then Bucky grabbed his ankle and made him trip. Then he slid the my shield over to me. I grabbed it and slammed it into Tony's arc reactor. His mask was on the ground on his face was in shock. It was finished.
