Chapter 5: A Couple Of Complications...

We saw a tall, thin, black-haired figure wearing all Gucci items. We took a closer look...

It was Tao.

How could we forget that Tao likes to walk alone on the beach? Both me and Yixing panicked inside and I pulled his arm and we went and hid under an umbrella.

" Do you think he saw us?" I whispered.

" No. He's looking down at the sand," he replied.

" How could we forget that Tao likes to walk alone on the beach?"

" I don't know. We better go to our next destination, though," he said. We slowly began to creep away until Tao noticed me but not Yixing. Yixing ran onto the streets and waited and watched. We couldn't see him, but he could see us.

" Karrera!?" exclaimed Tao. I gave up on walking. I turned back and pretended to not have noticed him.

" Tao! Hi!" I said. I ran to him and gave him a hug. He hugged me back.

" What are you doing here? Are you alone?" I wanted to say that I was alone not to lie, but I thought of Yixing.

" Oh, I'm just waiting for my friends. They're supposed to be here any second so I thought that I'd just go and take a quick walk," I said.

" I haven't seen you in so long. Turn down your friends and I wanna catch up with you. I looked onto the streets and Yixing and I looked at each other. He shrugged telling me to answer however I wanted.

" I'd love to...but it's really important. I have to talk to them really bad. How about you come visit me tomorrow? I'm free any time you'd like," I said. He seemed a little disappointed but nodded.

" Well, OK. I guess. Tomorrow I'll drop by your house to pick you up and lets go somewhere," he said.

" Great! See you tomorrow then!" I smiled and gave him a hug. He hugged me back. I started to walk toward Yixing, who was hiding his face while watching. Tao started to walk again and soon walked the opposite direction from me.

" What'd he say?" he asked.

" He wanted to walk with me but I told him that I was with my friends. Tomorrow we're gonna go somewhere," I said. He could tell that I felt a little bad inside for lying to Tao.

" Thank you for staying with me," he said. I smiled and we crossed the empty streets. We walked up several streets and to an ice-cream parlor. He opened the door for me and we walked in. It was a very small yet cute ice-cream parlor.

" Hello! Welcome to Breezy's Ice Cream! Would you like to try anything?" asked the lady. I looked at all the flavors and spotted my favorite kind of ice-cream.

" Can I please have a small sea-salted caramel?" I asked. Yixing popped up behind me.

" Make that a large sea-salted caramel," he said. The lady gave us our ice-cream and I tried to pay, but Yixing stopped me and payed for it himself. We walked outside and onto the patio. It was isolated from the streets and the parlor.

" Thank you," I said. He smiled and took a spoon full of ice cream. I took one too and we both ate and laughed.

" Is this your favorite?" he asked me.

" I love anything with caramel, especially ice cream. What about you?" I asked.

" I don't really have a preference..." he said. We smiled and he scooted his chair next to mine. " Sorry, it's just hard to scoop from a distance."

We both knew that he just wanted to come closer to me. He seemed to really like the ice cream and stuffed his mouth. He looked so cute with his cheeks sticking out.
