Chapter 18: A Whole Day With Yixing

" Hmm..." I thought. Where to go. I didn't have any ideas. " Where would you wanna go? I honestly don't know..."

He laughed. He put his hand on mine which happened to be digging in the cup-holder.

" Hey...I know. Didn't you remember telling me that you're into chess..." he said.

" Mmmhmm..." I replied.

" How about we go somewhere I know...JUST for chess nerds," he said. He smiled and we laughed.

" Lol I would love that!" I said. He immediately pulled out of the free-way and onto a road. I had never been on that road. It took us about 3 minutes to get there. Again, it was ANOTHER building in the middle of no-where. It was beautiful, though. It was made out of marble and in big letters wrote " chess club." We walked in and the inside was just as nice as the outside. It was all geeks playing chess. I silently laughed seeing all those geeks and Yixing looked at me and laughed too. We were quiet, and we walked into some sort of unofficial " front desk." There was a three person line.

" I come here a lot...you know...when I just want a little time to myself. It's really enjoyable. Only Luhan and Chen know that I come here sometimes...and now I guess you know too," he said. The line moved with one person.

" I love that you're nerdy," I whispered. He smiled. I LOVE his smile.

The line moved again and again and we were talking to the greeter.

God, this guy looked geeky. Yixing was the ONLY good-looking...or even descent looking one in this room.

" Oh Yixing! Hi!" said the greeter. They fist-bumped. " Who's this beauty?"

" Oh...this? This is Karrera...she's really close to me..." said Yixing. The man shook my hand.

" Are you familiar with chess? Do you know the rules?" he asked me. I smiled and nodded. " Great! Just go and find someone to play. If you're interested...we're having a tournament today. We're going to randomly pair you with someone and there will be 5 rounds. We'll tally up the points...and give awards to the top 5. Are you interested?"

Yixing looked at me.

" Yeah. We are..." he said. The man smiled.

" Great! 17,000 won entry fee per player..." he said. Yixing handed him 34,000 won. The man gave us these stickers and we entered. We played for 2 hours then there was the " award ceremony." That's so cheesy...god...it's just chess...I mean...yeah, I LIKE it...but you really don't need award ceremonies for this...

I got 4th place and Yixing didn't get anything. I was given a ribbon and was given 117,000 won as a prize. We left and it was about 12 pm.

" I had fun! Great job! Your first tournament and you get 4th place...god...I'm jealous. I've played in SO many of these and the best I've ever gotten was 4th...and you got 4th on your first try! I'm so proud of you!" he said. There was a lot of traffic in the parking lot so he quickly put his arm around me and smiled.

I blushed.

" Thanks," I said. Yixing was about to pull out of the parking lot but then he remembered something then ran out and checked the trunk. I was worried.

" What? What? Why'd you run out?" I asked. He opened it, and saw something, then was relieved and ran back into the car.

" Oh...nothing..." he said. I smiled but was still wondering what happened.

" Hey...I just realized," I said. Yixing looked at me.

" Hmm...?"

" How come you always drive?" I asked. He laughed.
