Lay, My One and Only

Chapter 17: Biyu

It was a plain building with no signs and no presenting doors. There were no people and it was off-road. Yixing didn't seem to know where this was either. It was in the middle of no where.

" Whoa. What is this? It's just...just a building! There are no doors or windows either! Tao! What..." I said. Tao just led me and Yixing towards the building.

" Trust me. I know what I'm doing," he said. It was all dusty sand instead of gravel outside in the so-called parking lot. Yixing seemed confused, as always. I thought it was cute. Tao stood in the middle of us and led us into a sort of trap-door outside. It was next to the air conditioning. It looked like a storage room from the outside. Tao waved his hand as he went inside the trap-door.

" Don't worry...come in...you can trust your brother..." he said. Yixing looked at me and he followed Tao first. I followed Yixing. When we got in, it was NOTHING like I expected.

There were neon lights flashing all over. There was music and an indoor fountain. There was a dance floor and a disco ball. There were GIANT speakers and a bar with TV's.

Yixing looked around and his jaw dropped. Mine did too.

" Pretty great, huh?" said Tao. Both Yixing and I nodded in amaze.

" Why was this hidden? It's INCREDIBLE!" I said.

" I know. When my friend was visiting from China, he told me about this place, since he used to live in Seoul. It belongs to his uncle, and his uncle lets his relatives and friends borrow it when needed..." he said.

" But why'd we come here? Something important?" asked Yixing.

" Yeah. There is. I kind of wanted to show you..." he said. Yixing and I looked at each other as we followed Tao in front. We led us towards another room. The door was closed and he knocked on it then went in. We didn't go in, until Tao shook his arm. We came and sat down at a table. There was a girl sitting there. The girl was very familiar but she was wearing a hoodie which shaded part of her face. Tao was smiling.

" This is my girlfriend, Biyu. She's from China...and...I wanted you to meet her. Biyu, this is my sister...Karrera..." said Tao, showing me. We shook hands. I tried to see her whole face but the lighting just wouldn't let me. She didn't smile, but I did. " And this is my best friend, Yixing. He's Chinese, as well, so we can speak Chinese."

We all switched to Chinese.

Yixing and Biyu looked at each other and shook hands. I could see Biyu's eyes. She looked at Yixing differently...

Tao took off her hoodie. The name sounded familiar too. I saw her full face. OH GOD.

Biyu was from my high school. She was the biggest flirt in school and all the guys liked her. She was the prettiest girl, too, and I was second. Every time that I would find a boyfriend, she would steal him. Same with any of my friends. She would spread rumors about me and my friends would all abandon me. All except for Erika and Hannah. We were practically enemies back then. I STILL hate her to death. I wanted her to go to hell. And here we are now, 6 years later, and she's DATING MY BROTHER. No. I wasn't going to let this happen. I bit my lips and Tao saw that I was unhappy. He saw me and we made eye contact. Biyu just kept staring at Yixing with a flirtacious look. I kicked Yixing under the table and he didn't look at her anymore. Tao and I have always had this special connection where we can read each other's minds. He saw that I wanted to talk to him.

" Karrera," he said while standing up. " Can I borrow you for a minute outside?"

I didn't say anything and I followed him. We went and sat at the bar. I was worried about Yixing. He was all alone, with that flirt, in the same room.
