I haven't posted much recently, mainly because I'm super busy with school and partly because I've been watching a few shows intensely. I've carried on with doctor who, finished deadman wonderland, saw some movies such as Alice through the looking glass, Sweeny Todd and mean Girls and discovered some new shows. The Venture bros is one of them. Another show that I've discovered is RWBY, the best webseries and anime I've seen in quite some time.
I haven't seen a lot of it yet and that is an accomplishment, since it is really good and the episodes aren't that long. They're mostly between 6 and 15 minutes long. The animation itself is not that great for an anime, but this show shows us that the animation isn't Everything. Where it really shines is in the battlescenes, but I warn you: you might get a little dizzy. The character movement and lip sync is pretty bad, but it won't botter you too much, trust me on that one. Also: keep in mind that this is a webanimation, Which means it's free to Watch on YouTube and made with a small budget, so don't judge it too hard. Actually, give the creators a pat on the back, because it is really good.
The story is about Ruby Rose who gets accepted to a school where they learn you how to fight monsters. Monsters are fought with special weapons, that run on dust; a powder that has magical abilitys. You follow Ruby while she tries to survive school, be a good leader, make and keep friends and occasually fight monsters.
The story and setting are very interesting; it is very influenced by fairytales and the magical girl genre, so get ready for some intense monsterfight scenes. However while this anime has a pretty cool world, it's more character driven. All characters have their own problems and Dreams and are often based on fairytale characters.
This show is produced by rooster teeth; a Channel that is known for it's hilarious shorts and series and it shows. RWBY is really funny and follows a lot of rules for "anime" humor, while also keeping it fresh. Rooster Teeth is also producing a comedy cartoon called Camp camp at the moment, I suggest you check that series out as Well.
If you like shows like fairy tail and SAO you May enjoy RWBY. Just don't spoil it for me please 'til I've seen Everything. One hint: Watch the four character trailers first. It will help you understand the characters a little better and introduce you to the world of RWBY.
